OCMs & Personalities / Re: Which OCM(s) do you think will be the next to go?

« on: November 30, 2008, 10:05:09 PM »

I don't see any of the high-rated OCMs like Heather, Bill, and Jim going anytime soon. My predictions would be Kristina, Carl, or the apprentice/freelance OCMs.

General Discussion / Re: Do you consider yourself eco-friendly?

Agreed. I don't even bring my recycle/trash can out on collection days where my can isn't full or even half full.

I've been getting into the habit of using reusuable bags when I go to the supermarket. Usually I only use those if they have a self-checkout, because if I use them at regular checkout the cashier just ends up using the plastic bags anyway.

Wow, your WeatherPlus looks a lot different than mine did. Mine never had satellites zoomed out that far, watches/warnings, or voiceover.

Everything Else TWC / Re: Past versions of TWC

My favorite era/slogan are Live by it, the 98-01, and Bringing weather to life. However, the current era/slogan didn't go well.

Agreed, those three eras are the ones I like best too. Nowadays they decide to use a unstable format which I don't like. I wish they'd bring back StormWatch and the Lifestyles OCM segments (that featured the pollen maps, etc).

Or JLo's moving to Detroit.

She's moved to Dallas, not Detroit.

You left out Garden. I think that might be all of them. International is the only one Philadelphia doesn't have.

Driving lessons.

You don't drive yet? I've had a permit since January and will probably be taking the road test within a few weeks. There's a 2-3 week wait right now so I should probably schedule it pretty soon.

I don't need iTunes cards this year. I still have over $100 left from all of the cards I got last year!

Anyway, I recently got an Xbox 360 and need stuff for it so...

Extra controller
Networking adapter
NASCAR 2008 and 2009
Project Gotham Racing 4
Driver Parallel Lines
Burnout Revenge
Need for Speed Prostreet
Dirt

-Wii Play for the Wii

- EyeTV Hybrid USB Tuner for my laptop (so I can finally record higher quality Weatherscan clips)

Weatherscan Discussion / Re: Weatherscan Segments

« on: November 30, 2008, 12:19:55 PM »

I'm trying to email Comcast's E-Care service about adding the International Forecast to the Philadelphia Weatherscan, but they don't seem to understand what I'm asking. They just give me an email with no useful information, like how adding this segment would meet FCC standards, etc, and that they would go to the technical support team to closely monitor this (as if it were a technical issue). I then tried another headend and they told me to contact TWC about this, when it's the affiliates choice about what segments to show. Any ideas?

Weatherscan Discussion / Re: Weatherscan Topic

« on: November 30, 2008, 12:07:02 PM »

I have it here on analog basic but not digital basic. I wish I had it on digital too so I could record higher quality clips.

It would be neat if we could just order one channel like Weatherscan to add to our channel lineup, that way we wouldn't have to spend a whole lot of money subscribing to a full tier that has a whole bunch of other channels we don't need.

TWC and your Cable Company / Re: Is cable TV going downhill?

« on: November 30, 2008, 11:11:15 AM »

truTV- Limited court room coverage, with mostly reality crap (see a trend here?)

TruTV still shows a good amount of courtroom coverage during the week from 9AM-3PM, though still not nearly as much as when it used to be CourtTV. I still watch that channel a lot though. I like shows like Forensic Files, Most Shocking, Most Daring, Speeders, etc.

Have to agree with you about MTV 2. The channel was initially a channel where music videos were to be played 24/7, since MTV had already started showing reality shows. Now MTV 2 is basically the same as MTV.

I don't think I ever went through a day without eating anything. Even when I'm sick, I still eat at least something.

I rarely eat at places like those anymore. I occasionally go to Burger King (their fast food burgers taste the best because they are fire-grilled), but I haven't been to McD's or Wendys in years.

I've read Gary's blog too. While I dont' know about the staff at Wendy;s I like their food a lot. They have some very tasty burgers.

I haven't eaten at Wendys in so long, I forget how their food tasted like (other than their Frosty). The last time I've eaten there was I think 2002 or 2003.
