Wow, you and Lee met each other in person? That's pretty interesting. Then again, you guys don't live far from each other (I'm pretty closeby too, as you probably know).
I don't know what I would of done without this emulator project. When my Weatherscan XL was replaced with the IntelliStar in 2003, I became pretty upset about it. While I did like the original IntelliStar design and music, I really missed the XL too. I have a video from 2002 that I recorded to bring back memories, but that wasn't enough. I wanted a live Weatherscan XL. Then my dream came true when I came across this emulator. It really does take me back.
Regarding additional segments, Airport (segment that has local and national airport delays) and Travelling (various travel forecast maps) would make great additions to the emulator, but again this is entirely your call.
I'd use these segments as I find these the most useful even on today's Weatherscan (along with the Health forecast).

We sure were on a roller coaster ride in terms of temperatures. Yesterday afternoon, we were in the mid 40's. By midnight, we went up to 62º when a warm front went through. Just hours later, we were back in the 40's again. 
TWC's msg boards were a disaster since like 2-3 years after its debut (I think they debuted in 2000 or 2001). I wasn't surprised at all when I heard the news about them shutting down. I was a member there but I barely posted at all. Trust me, it wasn't worth being there.
