Everything Else TWC / TWC overusing production music

« on: June 22, 2009, 05:06:21 PM »

The use of production music has been happening since late 2005, but ever since late last year, they seem to use nothing but production music on all the shows except for PM Edition and Weather Center. Even the openers don't have the original show music on a lot of the shows. Why are they doing this? It makes their productions really sloppy. None of the other news stations I've seen are anywhere near as worse as this. All the local stations use their own themes as bumper music. So IMO, TWC should really get back to using each show's respected theme music.

Is Brian Piacrd is still selecting to the music? I also listened to radio broadcast with him on a NYC radio station (type "brian picard weather channel", and you'll see it in the first link) that he will add a mix to the variety once in a while but not too often because "We don't want to lose the emotional connection of jazz with our viewers". Hopefully, this style change is once in a while.

I thought you told us a new group was to be in charge of the playlists next month.

Local Forecast / Re: New Product Playlists (flavors) being tested

« on: June 22, 2009, 10:40:46 AM »

TWC must've discontinued the 1 min product playlists. The normal 2 min lfs on :08 and :38 and 1:30 flavours at :18 and :48 are back.

The one minute flavors are back today.

Should I go to sleep now?

Well, I haven't seen a blue bar so far tonight on PM Edition. Do they usually show it this time of day?

That was weird; just now they showed a Local Forecast sponsor graphic prior to the forecast saying that the LF was sponsored by Foster Grant, but the Canon logo ended up displaying during the LF.

I know this isn't that important but this has bugged me... has anyone noticed whenever they show a three lined lower third on the 11PM PM Edition, the first line is the brighter blue used in the daytime lower thirds? I'm surprised they've never fixed this, it's been like this since PM Edition started airing late at night on weekends.

Why I Love Summer Week is scheduled for mid-July. I guess you can thank you know who for those special weeks. TWC didn't have nearly as many as an private network.

It does if you come to Duck Centro.

Question: Do you live in El Centro or Duck Centro? I looked up Duck Centro on wikipedia and there was no such article. But sometimes you say El Centro too.

Wow, they have First Day of Summer graphics! They're still using the same graphic they've used since 2006, but they didn't do anything to celebrate the first day last winter and spring (instead they had the Why I Love ___ weeks).
