Dave Schwartz was just as popular as Dr. Lyons IMO. He didn't have his own promos, but he was a great OCM and TWC just didn't have the money to keep him.
I know, just look at all the groups, petitions, and websites that have been created for him. And TWC hasn't listened one bit. Dave would be a perfect companion with Ray, Alex, or Danielle on SW/WV. :(

depression is moving toward the west-northwest near 5 mph...7 km/hr.
This general motion is expected to continue for the next day or
so...followed by a gradual turn toward the west on Saturday.

 
Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph...55 km/hr...with higher
gusts.  Some slight strengthening is possible over the next couple
of days...and the depression could become a tropical storm at any
time.

FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

1. A LARGE TROPICAL WAVE LOCATED ABOUT 400 MILES WEST OF THE CAPE VERDE
ISLANDS IS MOVING WESTWARD AT 20 TO 25 MPH. SHOWER ACTIVITY IS
CURRENTLY LIMITED WITH THIS SYSTEM...BUT ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
ARE EXPECTED TO GRADUALLY BECOME MORE CONDUCIVE FOR SOME SLOW
DEVELOPMENT TO OCCUR OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. THERE IS A LOW
CHANCE...10 PERCENT...OF THIS SYSTEM BECOMING A TROPICAL CYCLONE
DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS.
