Titan was good in its prime, but I find TruVu is much clearer and faster than any of its predecessors.

Wow, I never thought Incognito composed music like that as a group! I had just assumed it was Frank Josephs' solo works.

I took the survey and contrary to what people told me nowhere in the survey did it ask what music I prefer. Guys these smooth jazz speculations are getting old and need to stop right now. Smooth jazz is not I repeat NOT returning to TWC no matter how hard you try! Get it in your head! It's a genre that's fading in popularity and isn't popular enough to be broadcast on a major TV network.

WeatherSTAR Tech Support / Intellistar 2 concerns
« on: April 29, 2014, 03:47:14 PM »
This topic was approved by phw115wvwx.

Comcast affiliates throughout Philadelphia have recently acquired the Intellistar2 HD, and I was wondering. Has our headend expanded or something because I'm getting cities from Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester counties now. If this is the case I'm okay with having the STAR centered on Camden County, however the current choice of Aududon is a very small borough that most people this far north don't really know about. Can Cherry Hill be used instead? This is a much larger and familiar township to almost everyone in South Jersey right next to Audubon that has a lot of attractions, while at the same time also is pretty much dead on center of the new viewing area. Also, why isn't Philadelphia included at all on any of the radars? If this can be changed too that would be great.

Thanks,
Mike

I'm sorry, but I call this BS. The user of the video said he got it from ImBoredIIDeath, but I don't see the video anywhere there. Another user also dubbed in smooth jazz onto a random LOT8s clip he claims it came from thefrontpanel.com. I go to that site, and they're not taking registrations. The site obviously has been online for awhile because it mentions "The Weather Channel Companies" (which is now known as the Weather Company).  And do you really think TWC would broadcast a promotion on television asking viewers whether they prefer jazz, vocals, or the LOT8s anthem, let alone nowhere in the promotion does it say anything along the lines of "what music do you prefer?" All it is is three of the same exact clips thrown together with a cheap movie maker with three songs dubbed in. The average viewer wouldn't even understand what is going on when they see that.

Is it me, or do the OCMs sound like they are shouting on air now to the point it's almost ear raping? You can even hear the echo in the studio.

I know. I was just wondering why he's never released it on one of his CDs.
It was on his "Someday Somehow" CD, which is now out of print. I bought it when it was on TWC's music site in 2009.

It was the III that was discontinued. However, I want to know if I could receive the signal thru a dish network satellite dish. Is there anyway I could do that? Also, I asked because I heard certain rumors of "TWC noticing that" around the forums at some point. I am still thinking of it.
The satellite dishes for weatherstars are COMPLETELY different than the satellite dish you use at home for TV. The kind you need is not easy or cheap to obtain. Even the most experienced tech enthusiasts have had little success working with this old equipment, so if you plan to get a 30+ year old piece of proprietary circuitboard fully functioning in the comfort of your own home... good luck. Not trying to be harsh, only telling you the truth and that you'll likely just be wasting your time on this.

Is Sunrise Weather back on the air? I noticed on my guide it says it runs from 4:30-7am weekends.

WCL is appearing from 11am-8pm weekdays on my guide as well beginning this week.

General Discussion / Re: NWS website redesign
« on: March 10, 2014, 02:24:33 AM »
Does anyone know what the status is on getting the the new format to go live throughout the NWS domain? My NWS office has pretty much abandoned the new format, as many links that went to the newly designed site are broken (just try clicking on the map here: http://www.weather.gov/erh/). Most of the weather.gov-based sites also redirect to the old erh/wrh/crh.noaa.gov domain, which still uses the old format. This is really getting old, as it should not take two years to do this. Patrick, as an employee of the NWS do you know anything about this? It seems as of they just abandoned this whole changeover. The SPC site is having this same issue and it's a mess now. If they are so adamant about getting things done then they need to finish them, not abandon them halfway through and come up with a different project that will encounter the same situation. Been an issue with them for years.
