This Sunday, I'll be flying to Norman, OK for a week to attend a training workshop on radar and severe weather warnings.  When I complete this workshop, I'll be able to issue warnings during future forecasting shifts.  I've only flown a few times in my life, so I'm naturally pretty nervous.  Wish me luck!
Wow, that's awesome Patrick! Good luck! :)

Wow were you on empty?  Gas prices suck these days
Pretty much yeah. Last time I filled just $40 though which filled it about 3/4.

About 10$ for lunch and then $2 for a water.
$2 for water?! Insane!

According to my schedule, PM Edition is still going to air from 4-5pm on weekends and that's it. Isn't that kinda silly?

Also, I still don't know why they picked Sunday night to be the all live programming night.

It's been steady between $2.90 and $3.05 here for the most part in the last two weeks. If you go to Bensalem you'll find it 30 cents more.

I strongly agree with you, Patrick. It's a shame too these days, that teachers only care about their salaries. Another thing that makes me upset is that the classes often teach students "to the test". The purpose for us to attend school is to learn. Should what we learn during 4 years in high school be wasted on a 4 hour SAT or ACT exam? We should be learning for the sake of knowledge, not test-taking.
It's also why people are failing state tests, because they expect everyone to know whats on it WHEN THEY NEVER LEARNED IT <_<

Forecasting / Re: Ask The Weather Expert!
« on: February 02, 2011, 10:50:33 PM »
Mike, unfortunately, we're in a pattern that has been persistent for a couple months now.  The upper level flow continues to bring storms up the coast towards you, and nothing has changed this pattern yet.  The atmosphere can get stuck in blocking patterns and repeat over and over the same weather situations until something breaks it.  I can't tell you when it'll happen though as predicting when blocks start or end in weather is a really difficult task.
Is that why I haven't seen any days where we would have 60+ degree weather for short time this year as well as last year?

lol they just showed an Abrams and Bettes Weather Center opener. Someone in the control room is tired
Did it use the old A&B/WC theme from 2008 or the current WC theme?
