Programming and Graphics / Re: Favorite Local On The 8's opener
« on: February 01, 2008, 10:11:04 PM »
I agree!  Deffinitely my favorites.  I also liked the Evening Edition local forecast opener from 2001-2003.
I liked that opener too. It was actually introduced in 2002. Prior to that, Evening Edition used the domestic local forecast opener with the Weather Center graphics.

I also liked the 2001-2003 weekend:now opener.

I'd definitely pick the XL.

I went to the doctor today and my hip is fine :)
That's good. Are you still using a walker?

If there are any CompUSA's in your area, you could try them. I know a lot of their stores closed though (there's only one left around here).

You CAN change the theme of OS X. (with this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ShapeShifter ) Not sure about the fonts, though.

Yes, I have heard about ShapeShifter, but that program isn't completely free (IOW, only a free trial is available). I was refering to that you can't change the interface without using software. There's also a free program called TinkerTool, but there are many programs that ignore its settings, such as Firefox and parts of the menu bar.

I don't like OS X, because unlike other OS's you can't change the fonts and the colors of the user interface.

TWC unfortunately had lost that playlist, as with November 2006. :(

The music (along with the STAR's) is pretty much the only thing I like about the current TWC.

Then it should work fine in your computer, Thunder.

I have a laptop so will this affect anything?
Is it a USB tuner?

Which brings me to my next question: Can Mac cd-rom drives read discs burned on a PC?
It should. I've tried this several times without a problem.

Nice buy, Gary. How much RAM does it have? If you have enough, you could probably get OS 9.x running.  :sunglasses:
Yes you can indeed install an OS as new as 9.1 in there. You'll need 32 MB of memory and 40 MB of virtual memory to run it (the computer can hold up to 128 MB).

Nice. I didn't know you used Macs. I haven't used any OS older than version 10.x since 2005.

I have a really old Mac II ci from the late 80's/early 90's. It's up on the shelf or attic somewhere, but if I ever get around to taking it out I'll show pics. I haven't turned it on since we got our G3 in 1999.
