WeatherSTAR Tech Support / Weatherscan pollen forecast still showing
« on: December 14, 2011, 08:30:55 AM »
Hi STAR team,

This past weekend the pollen report was removed from the Philadelphia and its N&W units and the travel forecast cities were successfully reverted to the winter locations.

However, the Vineland and Atlantic City Weatherscans in New Jersey (and possibly others in the state) are still showing the pollen report. Not sure if these were overlooked or just weren't gotten to yet, but I'm just letting you know.

Thanks,
Mike

If the archives were to be updated, would the old content not seen on the current layout still be on the archive section?

Questions, Comments, Suggestions / Holiday 2011 LAT48s?
« on: December 12, 2011, 02:51:03 PM »
I was wondering if we can plan another LAT48s this year during the holidays like we did last year? I was thinking doing it on the first day of winter again, which is on the 22nd this year, at either 7:58pm or 10:58pm ET.

Then I tuned into TWC HD (I had to purchase a new TV when I moved). The clarity is nice, but WOW! Talk about sensory overload!! I swear, there wasn't a graphic on it that wasn't animated! It was so rediculous that I actually laughed out loud at some of it. For example, on the 5 day outlook, there's a neon snake (as best I can describe) that goes up and down where the temperatures are listed. What exactly is the point of that?
I agree, the I2HD is way too distracting.

I don't care what the forecast is going to be in NYC, Buffalo, or Pittsburgh... I want the forecast for MY area! What's going on?

Personally I think it's ideal to just view it to look at content not seen in the current site, since I don't have any issue with the present layout.

They just show regional forecasts now? What happened to the metro forecast maps, hourly forecasts, and  airport delays they used to show?

What has been a mild and wet start to the week will give way to what will likely be the coldest weather so far in the season by the weekend.

Also, a period of snow is possible in the northern suburbs tomorrow night. Light accumulation is possible in the Lehigh Valley and moderate accumulation in the Poconos.

The only storm I can see being retired is irene as it caused billions of $$ in flooding damage
Irene definitely stands a chance due to the costs of damage, and the fact that it had produced the worst flooding in centuries in upstate New York and Vermont. However it does have a rather low fatality rate, even though it was the deadliest of the season.

Local Forecast / Re: Christmas 2011 Playlist
« on: December 05, 2011, 05:12:31 PM »
There's no Michael Colone music on this list.
What? There's no Christmas playlist without michael colone!!! :(

It's also missing March, Waltz of the Snowflakes, Rob Rafkin and Ottmar Liebert.

Looks like Arkenstone, Williams, and TSO dominate the playlist. :hmm:

Eh, not the best of playlists tbh. Needs more songs. I was hoping the BSM and Jeanne Ricks songs would be on this playlist again. I give ~7/10.

Hopefully Mr. Picard will add more songs as the playlist goes on like he did last year. Man, that playlist was the best!
