OCMs & Personalities / Re: Re: Alexandra Steele Let Go
« on: October 02, 2010, 12:07:03 PM »
Unfortunately, I had a feeling that she was let go when Crystal showed up on Weather Center. That's too bad--I really liked her, and many of you guys did too. As long as she can find work somewhere else--which I'm almost certain she will--that's all that really matters. I'll miss her though.

Clearly it was official when she started working. I'm afraid you were right.

I once told someone on this forum that I disagreed that Alex was likely laid off. I was wrong, therefore I take it back.

This is indeed devastating. I know many of you guys are huge fans of Alexandra, including Victor and Tiffany. She was also one of my favorites. I wish her all the best in what comes to her.

Alexandra, you will be missed by all of us.  :cry3:

Don't walk in to a Home Depot <_< It's already Christmas there, lol.

And Fall Semester is almost over...

I have always wondered...at what point of posts do the member ranks increase?

For instance
Newbie - 0 posts
Junior - 50 posts
Full - 100 posts
Senior - 200 posts (I believe)

I have been on Senior for a while now, so I thought I would ask.

To reach Senior Member you need 250 posts. Just wanted to make that correction. ;)

Had the same problem here. Then when the whole "switching hosts" happened, it went away. Just yesterday it came back.  :hmm:

Crystal Egger will be making her debut on Weather Center with Chris Warren () today.

I hope this is temporary, if not this must mean Alex is off WC for good.

HIGHLY doubt Alex is off WC.

Programming and Graphics / Weather Proof: New Episodes Coming
« on: September 29, 2010, 03:04:08 PM »
According to a press release by TWC that was posted on TV By The Numbers webpage, it looks like it revealed what the new episodes of Weather Proof will be about. Stephanie will be back, and that one Newton guy as well.

Which means....... Steph will be gone every two weeks from now on.  <_<

Here are the list of the episodes and the excerpts (from the press release)

Quote
“Trapped” premieres Oct. 2 – Stephanie and Newton show us how to escape alive from an avalanche, burning house and submerged car. Weather Proof tests avalanche detection devices and fireproof suits while “trapped” in some of these most feared situations.

“Gimme Shelter” premieres Oct. 9 – Weather Proof tests various shelters to see how much they can endure from Mother Nature. Stephanie and Newton light things up to see what type of walls help protect houses from being engulfed in flames. The team goes camping during thunderstorms and flash floods to discover if tents stay dry, and brave freezing temperatures and frostbite to see how an igloo can help protect you from a snowstorm.

“Car vs. Road” premieres Oct. 16 – This ultimate road test puts cars up against flash floods, mudslides, black ice and fog. Discover what types of tires work best when battling these extreme weather elements, and learn about the dangers of driving in the fog and what safety precautions should be taken.

“Twister” premieres Oct. 23 – Weather Proof puts your car and roof to the test during a tornado. The team simulates tornado-type winds to see what happens while driving during a tornado and what types of roofs will best withstand a tornado. And is there a way to “blow up” a tornado? Newton gives it his best shot.

“Deluge” premieres Oct. 30 – In this episode, Weather Proof takes on Mother Nature’s worst water dangers. Find out what types of tires can help avoid hydroplaning in a thunderstorm. The team interviews tsunami experts to find better ways to protect coastlines.

Weather Proof premieres this Saturday at 9 ET/6 PT

General Weather Chat / Re: Downtown Los Angeles bakes at record 113 degrees
« on: September 28, 2010, 11:21:13 PM »
Most of the west is expected to be in the 100's this week... I find that unseasonably hot, since we're supposed to be in the mid 90's and below this time of year.

Yes, LA's high of 113 literally shattered the record books. I also heard Beverly Hills reached 116...which is... wow..remind me what month are we in again?

Just had the most amazing time at Phoenix! The KISS concert? It was AWESOME! Phoenix has officially become my dream city... who cares about the hot weather that happens there.
Glad you enjoyed your concert!! :) I went to one myself on Friday. I saw Sugarland and Little Big Town.  I like country music :P

Not a huge-huge fan of Country. The only country artist I listen to often is Rascal Flatts. I like their music for some reason. lol

What is wrong with my stupid program guide?! It still hasn't changed, and the schedule changed yesterday.

Try resetting your box. I had mine off all night that night and it did take the change.
