They just did a severe weather interruption and Dr. Forbes was not at his desk, nor at the video wall.

From Jens Twitter: Will be on First Outlook with Heather Tesch tomorrow!

You would have thought that a $11.9 million project would have covered more area than just the Midwest, but I guess the equipment and people weren't enough to expand Vortex 2 outside of Tornado Alley.
Since there's been a lot of discussion about pursuing Meteorology here, I'll offer some inside information: I've been told through the loop of professors and other meteorologists that the top five schools in the country are Colorado State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Washington, and Wisconsin. There are obviously lots of other good schools, so just take this info for whatever it's worth to you as it's ultimately your choice.
Just curious phw115wx...lol...I will just call you that till I figure out your name but what school did you went to for grad school? Because I'm really interested in schools that have a speciality in understanding the ingredients for severe weather. Someone referred me to U of OK because it's great in that. I have also heard Penn State, U of Kansas. But U of OK has a 20,000 stipend which is one other thing that is attracting me to this school.
Vortex2 is only in the midwest, not northeast.
Yes thats why I said it's a perfect environment to go there today but I didnt mean that they will travel there today. I wish they can go there because the better they collect data, they better chance they understand tornadogenesis.
i wanna see a tropical storm.
Ohio State has meteorology, but it's called Atmospheric Science..it's basically the same thing.
I have a long list of schools I want to transfer after IVC, but mainly CSU San Bernardino, Northern Arizona University, and Arizona State are on my transfer schools list. Arizona, UC Davis and UCLA are on my Meteorology schools list. I still need to think alot tho by the end of Fall Semester 2009.
That's the same for my school at UC Davis...their major is Atmospheric Science.
Oh we will def meet if you go to UCD! They have a great Atmospheric Science program. The professors are super nice there....
Oh and if you are interested...You can do the TAG: www.ivc.edu/transfer/Documents/transferadmissionagreements.pdf which guarantees you to get into a UC and to tell you the truth the competition is not that fierce in the department because not a lot of people major in it. Small town, quiet....you'll like it.
No one's going to identity theft you or anything. I think it's neat to see what the people look like here.
