Not a bad show, in my opinion.  Both are very good personalities for the morning.  The only thing I don't understand is why they replay it later in the morning.

They play it again at 10 ET because it's 7 AM in the west (where I'm at).

TWC and your Cable Company / Re: Who here gets TWC HD?
« on: October 23, 2009, 03:04:45 PM »
Hey Andrea! Well, I got to look at the board here and fortunately you are the first to ask. :)

Here in my area there is TWC HD, available on DirecTV, Dish Network, and on the only cable provider in the Imperial Valley, Time Warner. I do plan to get it very soon once I get a huge TV upgrade, and a job as well.

Programming and Graphics / Re: The Weather Channel adds a movie night
« on: October 21, 2009, 08:50:30 PM »
Great, so they are now trying to do fewer weather coverage.   This is just like what happened to Cartoon Network since 2005.
Cartoon Network used to cover weather!? :P

No, I ment that Cartoon Network used to show cartoons, not weather. Cartoon Network now shows live action movies that are not animated.

Lately, alot of cable channels like Cartoon Network and most recently TWC are trying to add content that doesn't match the orginal content. Here's an example:

Cartoon Network -> cartoons then (now live action movies and mature shows)
Nickeloedon/Disney Channel -> family shows then (now stupid brain rotting stuff)
MTV/VH1 -> music then (now reality shows and celberty tabloid junk)
CNN/HLN -> news then (now talk shows)
Discovery Channel/TLC -> documenties and education shows then (now reality shows)
TWC -> weather forecasting then (now movies?  :wall: )

Not to mention TWC becoming more of a news network than a weather network.

My news station just played the Balloon Boy 911 call. It sounded sooo fake.

Quote from: USA Today
Darby said most viewers on Friday night aren't interested in much more than the weekend forecast, and that will be updated on the screen six times an hour.

So apparently the LFs will still show during the movie.
Sounds like the L-Bar, not actual LFs.

At any rate, according to the Zap2It guide, Weather Center will still run from 7-8pm with the movie starting at 8, so we still have the 7pm hour on Friday available.

I agree, most likely it's gonna be the L-Bar they show, also imo it would have been better to just cut the last hour of WC at 9pm EDT. and if the movie(s) are being shown for 2 hours then until 11pm to cut into the first hour of WCWC so both shows equal out in airtime.

I concur with you.

According to this:

http://www.usatoday.com/weather/news/2009-10-20-weather-channel-movies_N.htm?csp=34

TWC will be running movies on Friday night for four straight weeks starting October 30th. I think we'll have to settle for Saturday to be safe.

Are you serious????
Oh man, we shall do Saturday then.  :dunno:

General Discussion / Re: Does anyone have a Favorite Smooth Jazz Station?
« on: October 20, 2009, 01:01:34 PM »
I stumbled upon this one and it's my #1 Thanks LOT8's

http://www.loudcity.com/stations/the-wav-smooth-jazz/tune_in

Yeah. When I want some jazz music to fit my mood, I got to go on that site.
Unfortunately in my area there are no jazz music stations whatsoever. I know in my hometown they have like 5 different ones, but I wasn't into smooth jazz before.
