Everything Else TWC / The Weather Crime Channel...wtf?
« on: December 02, 2009, 12:11:41 AM »
TWC now covers crimes? I mean, WTF, they cover airplane crashes, airport computer glitches (oh and frequent LIGHTNING fatalities), but really? Crime???

Thanks to a twitter friend for showing Martin and I this brief article.

Okay...where's the WEATHER in TWC? Seriously, it's out of hand.

(OT: Felt it was necessary to make a new topic...didnt think it would fit the General TWC thread. :/)

Local Forecast / Ryan Farish Song Exclusives
« on: December 01, 2009, 08:57:12 PM »
Today I just found out that Ryan Farish has released 3 songs on his website. Those 3 are from previous TWC playlists:

"Heat"
"Lights Up The Sky"
"Firecracker"

http://www.ryanfarish.com/Ryan_Farish/Song_Exclusives.html

As a special Thank You from Ryan, you can download "Heat" and "Firecracker" for free. "Lights Up The Sky" costs $.99 to download.

This is pretty cool! I plan to get "Lights Up The Sky" next week.

Everything Else TWC / Ray Stagich Leaving Sunrise Weather?
« on: November 07, 2009, 05:05:35 AM »
This got me wondering: at the end of Sunrise Weather with Ray Stagich, a lower 3rd popped up and it said: "Goodbye Ray! Sunrise Weather will miss you!" Was it actually Ray's last appearance on Sunrise Weather? or maybe I'm thinking ahead...I hope this isnt the end of Ray. I'd be devastated. :(

OCMs / Janine D'Adamo (now known as Janine Albert)
« on: October 19, 2009, 03:29:51 PM »
Well, I really hope some of you remember her as an OCM on TWC in the 90's. She has also made a comeback during the 2004 Hurricane Season. But I must say, she is my favorite classic TWC OCM.

I've been doing some googling :google: and I havent gotten a lot of results of when she was on TWC, but some results came out when she was a meteorologist for WCBS and her bio for WINK (the CBS affiliate she now works at). I believe at around 2006 or maybe during Hurricane Wilma, it was the last time I saw her live on TWC.

I wish it had more results, but I am glad to know where she is right now after her comeback at TWC.

Questions, Comments, Suggestions / "Link To Us" HTML Banner Doesn't Work
« on: September 28, 2009, 04:02:33 PM »
I've been surfin' the site for a while now and found a page where you can add a TWCT banner to your myspace, blog, etc, and that banner links to the TWCT site. I would like to add one to a website I am working on for my CIS 101 (computer) class, and apparently it says that the code is broken. Am I posting it wrong? Or is this currently in progress. I'm not in a rush on this, tho; but I would like to know.  :hmm:

General Weather Chat / Southern California Wildfires
« on: September 01, 2009, 10:14:20 PM »
I've decided to create this thread to give an update for the SoCal Fires.

With abnormally hot temperatures and dry brush at the mountains of Southern California, fires have been breaking out day after day. Thousands of acres have been burned, hundreds of homes destroyed, and two firefighters have died on duty.

One of the largest fires ocurring now is the Station Fire. The fire is now days old and it is the largest fire any firefighter had to fight in history. The fire is now headed towards the Mount Wilson area, where almost all LA TV station and LA radio antennas are located and towered. The Station Fire has now burned over 120,000 acres and is expected to grow in the coming days.

Other fires that are occurring are the Oak Glen and Pendleton Fires, both are located on San Bernardino County. The Oak Glen Fire has now burned over 1000 acres and now 40% contained. The Pendleton Fire is now 25% contained and has burned over 800 acres.

This "heating trend" will last until Friday. So about two more days, they will have to deal with more 90 and 100 degree temps. By Friday, a slight cool-down may occur and humidity will rise. This will help the firefighters battle the fires.
