General Discussion / Re: Happy New Year, all!
« on: January 01, 2009, 12:22:34 AM »
2008 was a tough year for a lot of people.

Carmel, CA still has over 2 1/2 hours before they could sing "Auld Lang Syne"

General Discussion / Happy New Year, all!
« on: December 31, 2008, 09:37:19 PM »
I hope 2008 turned out to be a good year for all of you. I'm sending best wishes for a happy new year. I'm looking forward to 2009. Obama as president is a new ray of hope to me. Are you looking forward to the changes 2009 brings?

TWC and your Cable Company / Re: Say It Ain't So, Time Warner!
« on: December 31, 2008, 03:37:57 PM »
Time Warner is letting the Viacom networks go from the channel lineup?

I'm so happy. The shit on Nickelodeon and MTV isn't worth watching. I don't want to pay $100 a month knowing that I have a bazillion MTV stations I won't care for.

I actually want Time Warner.

Could have you named that OCM?

In response to your signature, not everyone celebrates Christmas

What the  :censored: indeed.

I bet the 12-year-old is struggling in his pre-algebra class rather than being a full-fledged environmental specialist. If he comes on my 11:00 news, I'd be switching to another channel.

Nearly every commercial annoys me, especially those who are promoted by BILLY MAYS! :wall:

Was Samatha taking the EE spot the reason why Kristina was on for Weather Center and PM Edition?

I may be doubting myself. Even as a sophomore, I am thinking about colleges and getting admitted into them.

(a 4.17 GPA doesn't cut the mustard)
That's sick.

Do you mean "That's sick" as in "That's disgusting" or as in "That's cool"?

2. Hopefully get a job
3. Being more optimistic
4. Not letting small things become a huge deal

General Discussion / Re: A question about radio/TV ads...
« on: December 23, 2008, 04:23:36 PM »
its not about gullibility. Its about driving it so far into your head that it sticks there. Sort of like when you here a song and you can't get it out of your head.
Right, sometimes the number is in the form of a jingle, so it really sticks in your head.

But only a few people would be so gullible to memorize the number, let alone call that number.

General Discussion / A question about radio/TV ads...
« on: December 23, 2008, 01:21:44 PM »
for the ads that ask you to call an 800 number, do they really need to repeat their number so many times? There is a series of ad scams that repeat the  :censored:ing number at least eight times... in a 30-second spot. Commercials like these are part of the reason why I rarely ever watch TV during the day.

Don't believe everything you hear! I may like watching the History Channel, but I don't believe everything they show. The next clip was Fox News. If you'd know its reputation, you'd know what I'm saying. Fox News is the Disney Channel for old people or conservative butthurts: It brainwashes them to believe in everything they say.

Programming and Graphics / Re: WWCH DVD Set To Be Released
« on: December 11, 2008, 08:14:42 PM »
I think I might actually buy the DVD's... only because the network needs money. If I want history, I'd go next door (according to my channel lineup) to the History Channel.
