^That's very cool. Did you go on vacation to Colorado?

I found out more about TTV. Apparently, it stands for Tokyo Television, so it's a Japan-based channel. Its telephone number is from the Bay Area, so indeed it is local.

TWC uses red lower-thirds for any developing story or coverage for any severe weather, so it's harder to determine when TWC goes into Storm Alert.

I hate when there's so much clutter on the screen that you can't focus on one thing for long. Including weather and traffic conditions isn't very relevant for a cable sports channel.

We might not need to wait for a major hurricane to see Storm Alert graphics. They might use those graphics for minor hurricanes. I don't think Alex will be a big deal, though.

It's possible that TWC wants to beat FOX News and CNN for being #1 network pertaining to the BP oil spill.

Get ready to facepalm.

It's "Health week" on NBC.
They're milking the show with obese people sweating and crying for what it's worth. One of the reasons why I'm opposed to NBCU.

I'm beginning to think that ancient Weather STAR 4000's are more stable than the IntelliSTAR. Modern-day computers can't run stably compared to dated ones.

Some places, such as mine, don't have traffic reports. We have tides and the marine forecast.

I think it's the next step to making TWC less focused on weather if they say weather and traffic instead of just "local (weather) on the 8s.

I saw another glimpse of TTV tonight, and there was a South Asian-based newscast in English. Eric might have been right; Ghettoscan might be in fact TTV, and the weather/traffic info is just filler.

Ghettoscan is what is should be called. It even has horoscopes and "odd news".

That's strange. It doesn't look anything like it's a Taiwanese network.

I'm guessing this is one of the cable channels that Comcast added to my line-up that will come and go because of a lack of funding (TTV is commercial-free). It does give me an alternative for weather info if TWC isn't talking about weather or when the local NBC Weather Plus is on the fritz.

I was surfing channels, and I found something strange. It's called TTV, and it's a "ghetto weatherscan", if you will. It has sports headlines, weather conditions, and updates on the BP oil spill news headlines. There is no music and the production values are that of a looping PowerPoint presentation or a WeatherSTAR XL had it existed in the early 1990s.

Has anyone seen this, or is this a local thing? I looked online, and I saw absolutely nothing about it.

OCMs & Personalities / Re: Carl Parker

I've read his blog, too. It is interesting, so I'll keep an eye on it. I think he and Heather Tesch do a great job on Weekend Now, though I enjoy Heather Tesch's presentation more.

Everything Else TWC / Re: TWC Poll

I rated TWC a 1 because it became a shadow of its former self. There is too much fluff and too little focus on the weather. The screen is harder to read because the LDL enlarged recently and I can't read the weather maps well. I can't enjoy Local on the 8's as much; the music is repetitive and I don't like the updated Intellistar. Of all the OCM's that are still on the network, I can say that Betty Davis, Kim Cunningham, Heather Tesch (if I can stand Carl co-anchoring), and possibly Paul Goodloe are the only one that I can listen to attentively. NBC's involvement might have put another nail in the coffin. Too much long-form and too much fluff news add up to an unwatchable network.
