Everything Else TWC / Re: General TWC Discussion

I'm glad he has a long tenure at TWC and he still has the momentum that he had after all these years, but I've not gotten into his style.

I really don't care for Carl Parker. He's not an entertaining OCM.

Last night, I heard the Weekend Now music used as an intro for 20/20
Thats part of the videohelper library  :P Look up VH 33.0 #48
Yep. I heard some production music on TWC that I also heard on 20/20.

I was looking forward to iTunes 10, but it isn't available yet to download. Yet again, if the social network thing is what is the selling point of the upgrade, I see no point in moving on to iTunes 10. I don't *do* social networks, especially if they're mainly "[name] bought [album] by [artist]".

OCMs & Personalities / Re: Gooood Moments From Our Fellow OCMs

If I were to show all the good moments from my favorite OCM's (Schwartz and Seese), my post would take a bunch of badwidth. If I had to choose my favorite OCM that still works for the network... let me get back to you on that one.

General Discussion / Re: Anyone have Sirius/XM radio?
« on: August 16, 2010, 10:35:09 PM »
For now, I'll listen to Sirius Radio on my free trial. After that expires, I'll go back to my usual listening modes. I might subscribe to satellite radio in the future.

General Discussion / Anyone have Sirius/XM radio?
« on: August 16, 2010, 07:55:41 PM »
I'm currently on a free trial for Sirius Internet Radio. I'm enjoying the overwhelming variety of stations. I'm inclined to register, but it is $12.95 per month. I'm not going to buy any equipment; I'll just subscribe to the online radio. Is it worth it if I will continue listening to Pandora and my iTunes library?

General Discussion / Re: EAS Test
« on: July 18, 2010, 01:45:25 PM »
I didn't find any test schedule. ;(
It sucks because I get advance notice for emergency drills at my school (I'm sensitive to loud noises and my school's administration is cool like that) but I don't get notice for when the unnecessary tests go off.

I found an interesting article about the catastrophic faults of the EAS, and I can add on to that. First, quit pretending it's the late 1970's. Redo the alert tone and change the warning screen to something modern. Also, don't do the Child Abduction Alerts if it doesn't impact my county. I doubt they will need to have the system automatically turn on televisions. People would turn to their internet or smartphone.

The Federal Government may not know this, but times are changing. TV alerts should be replaced with text-messages and web alerts. It's 2010, not 1960. It's nearly impossible not to stay connected to the media.

They've been proposing automatically turning on TV's for alerts since the EAS took over.

How do you find the EAS test schedules?

That should have been its name since 20052006.

A more fitting name would be NBCW, since WNBC is the NYC's affiliate.

I don't think there's a 7/11 that's less than an hour's drive away from where I live.

There are so many other bands I can't stand, including Brokencyde and The Insane Clown Posse. The folks at Hot Topic seem to love it.

Wow, I'm surprised to find this topic near the end of the subforum...

Train - Hey Soul Sister :hammer:
Thank goodness someone else finds this song godawful.

Currently, I can't stand Lady GaGa songs.
