Local Forecast / Need playlist
« on: June 17, 2009, 09:35:53 PM »
What happened to the October 2008 playlist? It's not on the main site, TWC took theirs down, and I couldn't find a thread anywhere.  :dunno:

Local Forecast / Incredible - Never seen this before!
« on: June 02, 2009, 10:59:47 AM »
The background on my IS is not displaying! It's icons, with very faint gray text on a black background.

This is the most bizarre thing I've ever seen.

EDIT: There's no TWC video either. The top part of the LDL (where it says NOW, TODAY, TRAVEL, etc.) appear as normal, but the main body text of the LDL is on a black background.

General Discussion / Webcam recommendations?
« on: May 31, 2009, 10:31:31 AM »
I've never really done web-camming, and all I have is a really crappy camera we got for free when we signed up with Comcast for the first time (2004!). So what's a decent web cam these days?

Can someone please upload or send me the fonts from the Weather STAR 4000 emulator?

Thanks! :)

Local Forecast / Consistant data loss?
« on: May 04, 2009, 08:36:26 PM »
Has this been happening to anyone else?

For the past 2 weeks at least, I've observed that my IS is missing data from the Daypart Forecast (only the first slot contains data), and the Metro Forecast map (3 to 4 locations missing data). This has all been occurring in the evening hours, around 7-9 PM local time.

General Discussion / The Virus
« on: April 01, 2009, 07:39:17 AM »
If you have your computer set to Automatic Updates, then you've been protected against the Conficker virus since October 23rd, 2008.

Stupid media scare...

General Discussion / Anyone good with Photoshop?
« on: February 10, 2009, 07:02:34 PM »
Basically I want to place an image I have, into a CRT monitor screen. I've seen tutorials on how to do this for LCD screens, but not a CRT, since the glass is curved, and glares a lot. Any ideas?

Questions, Comments, Suggestions / hotlink the forum logo
« on: January 10, 2009, 09:59:06 AM »
This isn't important or anything, but on a lot of forums I go to, the logo at the top of the forum is linked to the index page of the forum. So if you're anywhere in the forum, you can click the logo at the top and it will take you to the main forum page. Like I said, it's not important, but it might be a good idea.

General Discussion / Question for the older TWC forumers
« on: January 02, 2009, 07:57:25 PM »
I've been wondering this for a few days now. If I recall correctly, the current TWC Classics board dates back to around March 2005 or so. But wasn't there another forum before it? I know TWC Classics has been around for quite some time now, and I find it hard to believe that they would have started their first forum only 4 years ago.

I just heard the exact same music used for the TWC RoadCrew opener used in a TBS commercial!

General Discussion / Website help?
« on: December 26, 2008, 12:05:44 PM »
I'm wondering if there's a way to save the header and footer of my webpage into a seperate file, and have all of the other pages reference that file, versus having to transfer all of the HTML crap into each page.

HTML or CSS, possibly?

Local Forecast / A little something I found out about the XL
« on: December 11, 2008, 07:30:11 PM »
If you remember this pic of the XL, you'll notice how the board says "Moosehead/TWC Interface".

I did a little snooping on Wikipedia, and have been able to prove my theory that the XL really is an SGI O2 computer. The O2 was codenamed "Moosehead".

Pic: http://copper.yi.org/wsl/xl/DSCN4946.JPG
Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SGI_O2 (under Sec 1.1; first line)

Just thought I'd point that out. :)
