Hey everyone, I know I don't post much, if at all, but I've got a question.  You've all been (or still are) in elementary school/early junior high/middle school.  I'm an instructor at a local daycare, and we're doing a weather/seasons week soon.  My question is, do you all have any ideas of simple, inexpensive activities that relate to weather that I could do with the kids?  Thanks for your suggestions in advance!  PM me if there's an idea or few that you've got!

PS:  the age range of the kids is 5 (kindergarten) through 12.

General Weather Chat / Re: Pennsylvania: May 31st curse

Just wanted to post and say that I'm from the Flood City, Johnstown.  May 31st hasn't been the only flood day in Johnstown.  March 17th, 1936's flood was due to extremely rapid snow melt.  July 19th-21st, 1977's was due to a terrible thunderstorm.

Did I hear Eagle Eye Cherry's "Save Tonight" on one LF during the replay of WUWA?  I think it was on for the :48.

General Discussion / Re: Introduce Yourself! (For New Members)

Hey everyone!

I've probably introduced myself before, but I figure I'd do it again in this thread.

My name's Mel, and I've been a wx nerd since elementary school.  I've been a TWC nerd since then as well.  The local forecasts actually helped me increase my reading speeds back when I was younger.  My father's vision's not-so-great, so I'd read them out loud to him (until the narration came along... taking my job, weather channel... grr.   ;) ) and it really did work.  Without that, I don't think I could read as fast as I do today.

Anyway, I hope to talk to you all more, and have a great day!

Hi everyone!  My name's Mel, and I've been lurking around for a while. I figured I'd finally introduce myself.  So, hi!  I hope to post more as time goes on.

Feel free to ask anything you'd like, or share anything you want as well.

Talk to all of you later!
