Everything Else TWC / Re: Studio 9 upgrades
« on: December 06, 2023, 01:32:09 PM »The large video wall in Studio 9, which was made from 16 monitors and was in need of replacing, has been upgraded with a new video wall.
I believe they might also be replacing the older smaller video walls made up of mutiple monitors, as they were not using that part of the studio today.
I would really like to know how they got that big display in their building.

I remember always watching one specific person's 24/7 youtube stream of a actual real and legit Weatherstar 4000 running (not emulator at all) -- it was real cool because the person was there sometimes in the live youtube chat and i did get to talk to him a few times. I hope he didn't get axe'd. But im guessing so.

« on: September 22, 2023, 08:29:51 AM »Hello, does anyone know if there's any possible way at all we can send feedback, or contact The Weather Channel (like people responsible for the TV broadcasting or something like that, the people that decided to bring back the classic Weatherstar 4000 here, even though it's their own type of emulation) -- in reguards to possibly considering playing other smooth jazz songs ??
I mean i do love this very much, and like everyone else here, and in the youtube comments i've seen, that this is the best thing Weather Channel has done in ages... and i love that we have some playlist of Smooth Jazz songs here but... it's been 3 or so months, and it's just been the same exact 1 set of songs ever since this started on June 28. it hasn't changed a single time even today.
I really wish they would rotate other songs they used to play back in the 90's.. like some Trammell Starks songs obviously since that was always my #1 favorite personally.
As much as i love this current playlist, it does feel very tiring and a little annoying just hearing this exact same playlist for 3 months so far.
That's why i was hoping anyone knows if there's some way we can contact them in any shape or form, to get them to consider using other Smooth Jazz songs (and possibly Trammell Starks)
I wish I could share in your enthusasm, but as soon as they started this 4am experiment, they went around YT and took down a bunch of streams of 4000 simulators to funnel everyone into watching their programme. Not cool.

« on: July 16, 2023, 10:26:59 AM »hey all, does anyone know where CC's WS4000 and IS1 Weatherscan/Local Conditions streams have gone? I haven't seen them around for a few days and am experiencing withdrawals lol
I retired the IS1 stream about a month or two ago due to extremely low viewership. The end of last week, someone at TWC ran around YT and other streaming platforms and did a take down of any "4000"-esque streams. Obviously competing with their new "Retro 8s" programme. When this action is performed, a strike goes against my channel, and I am unable to stream from it for a length of time. I am currently running the Jr stream on a sister channel, but as for the 4000, I may need to modify its theme to offset the current on-air appearance.

Technically, yes but its not easy because the frame manager is written in such a way to expect frames to be played back in a certain way. Let's try and find a source for the maps before writing them off completely.
Even without those two big maps there is still plenty of information that’s good for boat and beach

Yes.. Actually what has happened is the classic maps utilized in that package from Intellicast have vanished from existence. The error you're getting is because it cannot download them. In the mean time, keep the package off, and we'll have to find a new source. Specifically, the maps that went offline were the Water Temperatures, and Wave Heights (continental USA maps, for both).

as a recommendation.. disable all extra packages except for Local Forecast, and test from there. it is known that Airport is not functioning right now because of data source. try that and see if that helps.

« on: October 26, 2020, 10:03:09 AM »I need help with a forecast that hasn't been updated since April 2, 2019. The data loads in fine in the simulator, just the data is severely outdated. I'm not sure what to do. Any help?

Thank you for the heads-up on this. The data the emulator uses heavily relies on the dissemination of text products by the NWS, as sent by the local Weather Forecast Office. I will check on this later to see what may be causing this zone to show old data.
