IIRC, at least for the first week or two, Kenny G's "End of the Night" would play for the first few seconds, and then "Windows" would kick in.

Yes indeed.  "End of the night" would abruptly change over to "Windows" at about 17 seconds into the LF.  This occurred on the "Tri-State Weather" Local Forecasts

At just those times? Weird.
Yep... only during the times that Tri-State Weather would air.. and this odd error occurred throughout the entire month that this playlist was used.

It's possibly because  Tri-State WX local Forecasts would often have their own dedicated music tracks.  My theory is that the 3-minute LF's that were used during Tri-State Weather were indeed "LL" Flavors and not "J" Flavors.   It seems that the July 93 Playlist used 5 songs for their "J" Flavor Local Forecast (including the full version of "Windows"),  but the playlist had only one song for their "LL" Flavors: The weird "End of the Night"/"Windows" mishmash.

If you peruse the playlists on your site (the PDF zip files from BMI or The Weather Channel), you will notice that the songs listed as LL flavors were the songs used only during Tri-State Weather.

I think I found an answer to my own question.  The second screenshot was taken at :52 past the hour, almost certainly meaning a L Flavor (probably with Struttin' by bobby Lyle).  This would mean that the new flavor lineups were still in effect.  I would love to see that footage!

That Travel Forecast used to get stuck and sit there for entire evenings.  Did the LF's revert to their old flavor lineups while the old text-based TCF was temporarily reinstated?
