Hey, Tyler! Just shot you a message about this, but didn’t see it appear in my “sent” folder. If you didn’t get it, shoot me a message!

I also just think, frankly, that they're realizing that there's little point (generally beyond this group) in having a full local forecast every ten minutes during live coverage when you can get the exact same thing (and more) on the phone, tablet, or laptop in front of you.
...unless you're someone like my step-dad who almost never uses the internet, but always needs weather information because of his job.
This morning, the Weather Channel logo is being replaced with a constant Local on the 8s on the lower bottom corner. Only one I've seen is at the :18 and :48 on the hour (at least on the morning shows so far).
There hasn't been one positive change to this network in the last 7 years. It's a shame, because this forum was once so lively with passion. It has died along with the network.
They appear to only care about ad revenue, and they will cut anything that gets in the way, even royalty rights to jazz artists.
I'm sick of the same production music they've been playing for five years. It is completely stale, and it's awful they've gotten away with it for so long. However, I guess it doesn't matter, because they're just trying to phase out the local forecast anyway.
Damn shame what has happened to this once great network. The good days were when we'd complain about them keeping a music playlist longer than a month and getting rid of the XL icons.
When the buyout was announced, they officially took ownership. So for all practical purposes, the change is happening as a result of that.
Not sure how related it is to the purchase, but the info is pertinent:I doubt it as it's been not even two weeks, but if it was talk about fast!

It's all because of that "Local Now" bullshit.
Just saw her on the TWC App. Any showings on air?
Damn. All because of a stupid comment she made.
David Clark, who has been president of The Weather Channel for nearly 5 years, is leaving the network and joining Comcast, which is one of the owners of the TV network.
Clark joined Weather in 2012 from MSG where he was EVP of sales and partnership development.
For Comcast Clark will be Executive Vice President and General Manager of Advanced Advertising.
“David is a dynamic and innovative leader with broad experience in television, advertising and digital media,
making him uniquely suited for this new position,” said Marcien Jenckes, President of Advertising. “The advanced advertising industry is evolving rapidly and David will play a critical role in helping our advertising customers maximize the value of inventory and audiences reach with technology across all screens and sales channels.”
In 2015, IBM acquired The Weather Company’s digital assets including weather.com, mobile and cloud-based web properties, Weather Underground and WSI. The TV network was not part of the deal and remains owned by Comcast, Bain Capital, and Blackstone.
At the time of the split, David Kenny, CEO of the Weather Company joined IBM and Clark remained president of The Weather Channel. No word on who will be replacing Clark at the TV network.
Of Course, The Links Don't Work
