Everything Else TWC / Re: Storm Alert Mode 2011!

Did TWC send half their team out to cover this Tropical Storm, only for it to fall completely apart as it literally crashed into the dry air?

6.5/10

Our winter was divided up pretty nicely.

January was just brutally cold....

During February, the temps were at normal the entire month (high 30s in beginning of month, low 40s by end).....didn't complain, it was a pretty nice month for February standards...it just stopped snowing too once February kicked in....

During March, temps continued to be at or above normal...pretty good month

I hope here in Massachusetts that we don't wind up with another summer 2009.

In June, we had like 3 sunny days and temperatures struggling to get into the 60s....it was so depressing....

In July, this yellow circled thing called the sun finally popped up, but temps were still too cool......I didn't get my AC put in til the end of July!

August gave us the middle finger.....we had a few 90 degree days but then the heat subsided.....then, near the end of the month, we have this one last hot day, then boom, fall arrives before September does...

My AC usually goes in during mid/late June, maybe early June if hot enough...

Yeah I'm a little fed up with this playlist too....I'm too lazy to dig up the song that seems to play 50 times a day, but this is always the first song I hear when I tune to a local forecast for some reason....

Also, why is the Mermaidman and Barnacleboy song on the playlist?

I just got TWC added on my cable system last month, so my interest in TWC has come back a little. Why is it that some of the maps are really bright and some of them are dimmed? I personally don't like seeing the radar dimmed, it looks great when it's really bright if you ask me. Same goes out for other maps too.

Is it me, or does it seem that the background on the radar/forecast map look a lot lighter?

Finally got it on this past Monday the 21st......it's beautiful! I may have faded out of the TWC picture, but TWC HD looks a lot better than I imagined it would.

Just That by Jay Soto and Brighter Days by Brian Hughes...

Brighter Days was aired constantly between July and October 2007, and then it just seemed to alternate with Just That in September/October as the only two songs played.

Hi, I surely haven't been here in forever, and don't think I've forgot about this site. :P

I need your help indentifying this song, but the video is no longer on Youtube.

Does anyone remember that video of a WxSTAR 3000 emulating its final days in late 2004? I'm not sure if this was a holiday themed song or not, and I'm pretty sure it was either primetime/overnight song. The song itself is heavily piano based. That's all I can give, but I'm pretty confident some of our older users here know which video I'm talking about.

Thanks a lot for the help.

Alright, how horrendous is the tropical coverage out there?

Is it even worth tuning into TWC or are they going to tell us how Bill is making all of the fish out in the Atlantic scared and how many drops of rain it has produced over the ocean?

Whoa, I have multiple cities on my Intellistar's LDL now, rather than just Taunton.

It now does conditions/forecasts for Attleboro (my city)/Somerset/Taunton.

Really cool addition.

When was the last time I applauded TWC?

Didn't know hurricane history was so crucial to add onto the BBOD.

Speaking of maternity leave, I have some funny story that happened a few years ago.

Though not on TWC, JC Monahan is a meteorologist on WCVB-TV (Boston, ABC), and in 2006, she got pregnant, due in October. So when that time came around, she left in about mid-October. My first thought was "Wow, she's due this month, don't worry. She's just taking the day off to give birth and she'll be back tomorrow like it never happened." She didn't return until about early January, but I NEVER knew about maternity leave about the time.

Just imagine that, "Hey Bill! I need today off so I can go to the hospital and give birth! Don't worry, I'll be back tomorrow! Thanks a lot for giving me today off! Bye!"

Anyhow, best of luck to Jen and her kids. Her daughters will turn out to be very beautiful, and we'll all know where the looks came from. :P

Summer 06 was the best summer ever for so many reasons. TWC was a lot better back then

I thought summer 04 was the best summer ever on TWC. :P

It seemed like there was a severe weather breakout everyday around the US.

And TWC hit a stretch of great playlists from July04-June05.

Here's a new one for the BBOD:

"Northeastern Summer"

Really?

The BBOD acts like it got up to the 90s here and absolutely humid, when all it did was get into the high 70s/low 80s here.
