BTW I am thinking of doing a live UStream on my account so if you are an uncle or auntie and you want to see the kitties live...you can do so....It's coming soon though.

Cool! I want to see baby kitties live! It'll be like an egg cam...but with live animals.

Watch out Billy, theres a tornado warning in your area.

Here's a 4 hr loop of the area that's been hammered. I probably should have moved my zoom box a bit to the west...I cut off some of the storm's development.

I'm really not trying to be nitpicky, but this is pretty noticeable if you take a second look across the logo. The "D" in the one-line has a funky-looking spot in the outline. However, the "D" in the two-line seems to be okay...

I've outlined that spot in the "D" in the attached picture.

I hope your not the least bit serious. You can clearly see that I'm one of many voters for it.

Nope...not serious. It was a joke.

Things seem to be working now. As I told Jesse earlier, I believe the server was suffering problems, and that's out of my hands. Hopefully everything stays up now.

The server was turned off for earth hour...lol! :rofl2:

It seems that things are rather... broken right now. It seems https://twctodayforums.com/forums/index.php?action=recent right now is the only working backdoor  I wonder what happened...

I don't know...but I'm having to go backdoor too.

*calls for Gary...we need him now!*

Questions, Comments, Suggestions / Re: About width...
« on: March 28, 2009, 06:12:07 PM »
The width of the design depends on the width of the menu system. Right now, Gary had asked that I make it as interoperable with as many users and clients as possible, I chose 708px. It uses fixed widths, not based on percentages. Using percentages would break many of the key parts that make the site run the way it does. I honestly have no plans to change the width any time soon as I am happy with the design the way it is :)

It's way too thin for me. I'll just use greasemonkey.

Alright, I'm getting ticked off. I dont want to see another word about Lamarr, Rico, or any of the crap that's gone on in here over the last three days. I am honestly appalled by the level of maturity being shown by some of you. Grow up, move on. What's done is done. No use in beating a dead horse.

Amen. Back in my Wikipedia days, we had a policy about that...[[WP:STICK]].

Questions, Comments, Suggestions / About width...
« on: March 28, 2009, 05:40:52 PM »
I know the pages are wider than they used to be...but I'm still not liking the width. I was wondering with the new design, can we create a page that has 100% width and not a set amount of pixels?

Right now, it looks like the pages are 708 pixels wide...which gives a 46 pixel border to users with 800x600 resolution. However, almost no one uses 800x600 anymore. In January 2006, the number was 20% of users using 800x600. In January 2007, the number shrank to 14%. One year later, in 2008, it went down to 8% and is now around 3% to 4%.

What I'm saying here is that resolutions are continually rising, and to keep up we should do a 100% width...so it can work with someone who uses 400x300 resolution (ouch!) or 1920x1080. IMHO, it'd be the best for the new design.

I don't use Firefox as I feel itis rather primitve looking. I have worked with IE7 for a long time now, and I believe I have had it since it came out. I downloaded IE8 sometime last year. Because of one add-on, HP print clips, the browser kept crashing to the point where I couldn't use it. I took it in to Staples, and they fixed the problem, telling me what I know about it now. I downgraded to IE7 not long after.

Firefox? Primitive looking?! There are themes...they help a lot for people who hate Firefox's look.

Okay, how do you type that degree symbol?

Press and hold the Alt button (in Windows) whilst typing 0176 on the number pad...the row of numbers at top won't work.

The keystoke is Alt+0176.
Thanks a lot! Now I know why my computer has been taking me to my home page when I try to type the degree symbol! I was typing Alt+167  :rofl2:

No prob! :rofl2:
