New Windows 7 Upgrade

I love 7! I just hate the Office 2010 icons...they're just plain ugly. And people who have issues with seeing colors correctly will likely have issues distinguishing between the programs with just seeing a letter in the 162 icons. Design fail from Microsoft...is that a surprise?

Failwhale. (:

It was there until yesterday, when I changed it to a picture of the snow.

I stopped using IE in mid 08 and will continue to do so.

Same here. I discovered the amazing browser that is Firefox in 2008. I remember trying 3.0b...fun. (: I strongly dislike IE. It doesn't allow for CSS rounded corners. That would make web design so much easier...bleh.

Awesomely enough, I'm forecasted to get pretty close to the worst of this. Could very much be a short school week. I'd love to get 8" of snow, but I'd also like a spring break. I'll have pictures once the storm comes.

Mmmmmm Chili, at work we're having the 9th annual chili cook-off tomorrow. Everybody makes a pot to bring in and then we vote on who's the best.
I wouldn't mind joining that cook-off as I've been fighting a sinus cold today and could use something to clear myself up. :P

haha I've been fighting one since Monday. Tussin and Kleenexes are my friends. :)

Probably can't do the 31st. My DVR, if you didn't hear my whining on Twitter :P, is now all messed up. We have a replacement on the way, it's supposed to come later this week. However, knowing DISH, that probably won't turn out so well. I would like to do it on Halloween, but it may or may not be possible.

There's my entry. It's hard to see what I did with the logo. There is a spiderweb behind the T...you'll have to look at it on a dark background if you want to see the web itself. Hope you like it! (:

Soooo...I got my MAP test results back. We took tests in two areas (math and comm arts) last year. (Note: the comm arts test is a combination of English and reading). I scored advanced in both levels, getting a TerraNova score of 99 in Mathematics (I did better than 99% of students, I guess? Idk...their description was legalese.) and a 91 in comm arts.

Because my school does this thing where if you get proficient on a test, you get a half day off from school for each test you got a proficient on; and a full day for each test where you scored advanced, I get two days off. I plan to use these at the end of the year...8th grade gets out a week early for "PROMOTION" and I will get two days off before that. Niiiiice. :D

You know you can try the "download this video" option (if you have Real Player) that will pop up if you mouse over a flash video. Then, you can convert it to any format you wish, also in Real (chances are it will download in a .flv format). More trouble than it may be worth, but if you truly want the video, it's the way to go.

We need a new clue.

This is easy for anyone who is in the channel: Springy's favorite OCM. :P

*mumbles something about wanting a Pumpkin Pie/Crunch blizzard from Dairy Queen*
The nearest DQ from my dad's (and actually the only standalone DQ in the area) closed :(
They are quite sparsely placed, the only one that is easily found in the Lansing area is on the south side in an area that is not all that great.

We have one here in Podunk West Plains. And one in Thayer. And Cabool. And Salem. And Mountain Home.  That's just within 50 miles or so. They are EVERYWHERE in this area.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll go get the coffee table, all the massaging recliners, a full stock of food and drink for two seasons, and mounds of other stuff when Christmas comes. Sound good for everyone? :P

Guess what? Some of the trees are already starting to turn! Woo!

First day of fall, first day of being sick.  YAY!

There seem to a be heck of a lot of people getting sick lately. There are several people out at my school with some sort of sickness, most of which is the flu and some even with swine flu. :o

We do have many *likely* cases of H1N1 in Podunkville West Plains, the tiny country city that no one should actually care about. <_< Also, a ton of some sort of sinus infection is going around, too, so pretty much >50% of the town is down with something.

Here's what's creepy, though. This year, the rule about cancel(l)ing school is if the district-wide attendance drops below 80% one day, then we're out the next day and every day until it's expected to bounce back up. And the district-wide attendance is already below 90%. I would guess within the next 2 months we will have school cancel(l)ed due to illness. Yet still, I will refuse to take the shot because to me, it will just be the thing I get almost every other year: the flu. I understand that there are people who are more at risk for complications of H1N1, and I am more concerned for them, but as for me, I am not concerned. If a teenager in West Plains dies of H1N1, then I'll start to get worried. Is it likely? No.

* Jonathan steps off of his traveling soapbox

Now back to a less serious convo. I hope everyone's had a wonderful first day of fall, and hope it's a great one to come! I'll try to get some pics of our non-famous Ozarks fall foliage. <_<
