* URBAN FLOOD ADVISORY FOR... SOUTHEASTERN BROWARD COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST FLORIDA... THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF...PEMBROKE PINES... MIRAMAR... HOLLYWOOD... HALLANDALE... NORTHEASTERN MIAMI- DADE COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST FLORIDA... THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF HIALEAH...

* AT 225 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF VERY HEAVY RAINFALL WITH EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING FROM HOLLYWOOD AND NORTH MIAMI BEACH TO PEMBROKE PINES...MIRAMAR...DORAL AND TO THE MICCOSUKEE RESORT. THIS AREA OF RAIN WAS NEARLY STATIONARY. RAINFALL RATES OVER 1 INCH PER HOUR ARE WIDESPREAD IN THIS SWATH WITH RATES LOCALLY AS HIGH AS 2 INCHES PER HOUR OR MORE. ANOTHER AREA OF HEAVY RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS IN THE HOMESTEAD AREA WILL MOVE UP AND MERGE WITH THIS SWATH POTENTIALLY FURTHER ENHANCING RAINFALL RATES TOWARDS 4 PM.
THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL SO FAR HAS BEEN NEAR AND JUST SOUTH OF DOWNTOWN HOLLYWOOD ALONG INTERSTATE 95 AND U.S. 1...WHERE RADAR ESTIMATES THAT NEARLY 3 INCHES OF RAIN HAS ALREADY FALLEN IN THE PAST HOUR AND A HALF TO TWO HOURS.
ADDITIONAL RAINFALL IN THIS SWATH OF 1 TO 2 INCHES IS LIKELY...WITH ADDITIONAL AMOUNTS UP TO 3 INCHES POSSIBLE IN SOME LOCATIONS.
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
