I just got a call, and it was a local number, but the caller ID said "US GOV'T", so I decided to answer, and he says, Kyle?, and I said, yes?, He's like "You Ready To Go Back To SChool"... blah blah.  Then he says he wants to screen me to see if I'm qualified for the Marine Corps.  I told him I wasn't interested and he's like "You Don't have to be interested" and then I hung up.
No sooner do I hang up, he calls again, and said "Hi, I'm Sgt So and So from the Marines and I am calling to get a hold of Kyle, he hung up on me before.  I just want to get a little information from him, it was VERY RUDE he hung up on me".  Wow, was i ticked.  It's rude to call me AGAIN after I CLEARLY stated I wasn't interested   :whistling:

Yep your at the age where they start doing that. I remember when some Sgt. from the Army tried to get me to enlist. He called, sent letters in the mail, you name it. I just ignored it. And that's my advice to you. Don't answer when he calls. Such is the power of caller ID!  :P

Seriously though, if you ignore him he'll quit sooner or later.

not to mention, at the age of 18 - all males have to register with the SSS within 30 days of your 18th birthday - isn't that good enough??

ok, so apparently sometime during this past week...nickelodeon changed channels from 99 to 23...

well on the 99 channel...at around 130, when i was flippin through channels a screen popped up on channel 99 and on top of the message:

"Please Note, nickelodeon has been moved to channel 23" and it was an virus scan thingy...and then at the bottom of the screen, a windows taskbar appeared with start, etc on it...and i noticed that the message was being generated by powerpoint, there was another program too, but i forgot the name.

i thought it was really strange, i didn't know cable companies would do that.

i'll have pixs up tomorrow.

Wow, that's neat! Were you able to tell if it was the IntelliStar or XL font on the LDL? It could of been an IntelliStar that didn't receive the icons upgrade (there were a few that didn't receive it until  several months after most of the others did).

i'm almost certain it was an XL...many cities/towns toward the west don't have intellistars, but rather 4000s and XLs.

ok sooooo apparently my trainee, Jordan quit yesterday - and my managers thought otherwise - so he was still scheduled to go in at 5, well he never showed up, so my GM called him and he said he'd be there...he never shows.

so i today, being my day OFF...get a call from my GM, Teresa - asking if i can go into work because Jordan had quit, Kim (other cashier) was off and couldn't come in, so i was like - sure. ok. fine.

so i get there, it's a mess. i was ticked...i went to the back to check out my schedule and because Jordan quit, I now have 3 day double shifts starting tomorrow through Sunday.

somebody shoot me?  :fire:  :doh2:  :P

what radar system are they using other than the google based ones? sometime last hour vivan mentioned a torando warning in SE Louisiana, and a radar popped up with no topographic map, just a brown background, with the airport codes.

so i guess i could use a little bit more help on a situation i'm currently facing :

concerning my job - yesterday i met up with two of my friends at the josephine theatre, we went to see a show another one of our friends was in - so i met up with Chase and Audra at around 230 and they asked how i was etc, and if i had put in my two weeks yet for my job (they've already graduated, this past year [2008]) - i told 'em no...

hahaha apparently they thought i would quit before school started so they asked "so what, next week?"

i told 'em no...lol. then i told them i plan on keeping it through the school year.however both thought it was a bad idea - because it was my senior year and all...at first (before they even asked) i gave it serious thought, i figured ok, i can do this...but they reminded me that, i still need to do college applications, improve SATs and ACTs (haven't taken the ACT - I already registered for the first test in september) scores, and extra curricular activities (choir, ap music theory), and not the mention homework, so later that night-i went into work in a pretty depressed mood, thinking over what they told me - being my senior year...and came to the conclusion i should probably go with Chase's and Audra's advice and put in my two weeks, however i told myself i'll wait until september, after my probation period and see if i get a raise

i told chase and audra, that you know - money is an issue...

for those who didn't know, the Alamo Heights Choir is planning a trip to Hawaii in April of 2009, and that means the world to me, going with my senior friends, hanging out with each other for one last, and final time before we depart.

advice, anyone - at this point i really don't know what to do. :(

Damn, that's crazy!  WTF, why did the police take soo long to come?  Talk about emergency response

hell if i know...we called twice...and all i was giving was "there will be a unit there soon"...

hahaha. i forgot to mention a really stupid part on the SAPD's part...ok so about 30 minutes after the incident we saw a cop in the quarry - we thought he was lost...the quarry security guard hopped into his truck and took off after the police officer's car...apparently that officer didn't get the call about that thief, so we wanted longer and finally a cop finally showed.

seesh talk about the lack of communication.

so um yeah...today my restaurant was almost robbed, not once, but twice....

and guess who saw AND spoke to both suspects...I DID.

I QUIT.

more tomorrow, i'm about to go crash right now.
That really sucks!  are you really quitting?

well depends...i was NOT scheduled to close by myself tonight...so here is what happened...

around 10pm i headed outside to bring in the patio chairs, one lady, who was by herself at a table, was still eating her meal...so i skipped her table and moved on...when I was about to finish with the last two tables, i heard some guy yell into an alley, then he started walking down the sidewalk toward my work - thats when i grew suspicious, but didn't think it would actually happen, well he came up to me and asked for the time -  i gave it to him - 10pm, he continued walking along and he looked back, and i was looking at him, so i finished with the chairs and he was acting suspiciously in front of our restaurant, again i didn't expect he'd do anything there, well a couple of minutes later - LeCour our shift leader comes running in asking for the phone to call police and that some ladies purse had been stolen by that same guy who asked the time (he asked her the time after i had told him 10pm - i guess he waited for me to go in), we then acted and locked all doors, stayed with the lady until we could get the quarry security to arrive, and for the police as well, it was a good 45 minutes until the police got there, security however was there the whole time.

so the cop finally arrives and the lady, i could only assume, did a police report - she then left at around 10:50pm - giving me the chance to finish closing up outside, by now i wanted to get the hell out of there. lol.

so i closed up outside, came in and locked the doors and continued to close in the FOH (front of the house)

it was about 11:30pm now and the 2 cooks were still there, about had just about finished closing the BOH (back of the house) [i was the only cashier working that night, again i wasn't suppose to be] so they left, i was just about done with all my stations and just needed to take out the trash, so i roll out the trash can and get all the trashbags together threw them in the trashcan and rolled it out through the front, because that is were our dumpster is located - well this guy comes out of no where (not the same person as before) with no shirt on, which was already suspicious in my book, my manager saw and pretty much ran out...he started asking me for water, i didn't say anything - i tried to but nothing came out, i went around the guy and headed inside - and grabbed the phone - he then started flipping out (yelling, etc), so my manager whistled for security, but hahaha they didn't come - he closed the door and locked it.

thing is that we couldn't risk letting him in, so we didn't give him water, or anything...i mean if an incident had just happened not even an hour ago, would you let some guy that came out of a dark alley get some water?

What I meant was that they had no music, the Trammell Feed didn't come in, and you just heard popping the entire time.

Was it the sound that appears in the beginning of this video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Juvs36VaKIQ

yeah. it was like that. except it was for the whole local...i was only able to catch two locals without any music, before and after i'm not to sure about.

Here's an XL emulation I created (using MS PowerPoint 2007). :twothumbs:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_jEE-8sMSI

Some notes: The "sun-burst" effect on each screen is laggy (because the recording process slowed it down a bit), but it's not too bad. Also, I had meant to post this last week (so the weather conditions aren't current in this video), but I had issues with exporting it out of WMM, but it's fixed now. :)

Anyways, enjoy! B) Song featured is "Adoration" by Ryan Farish.

nice job!! also i love that song by ryan farish - always have, always will.
