General Discussion / Trouble in the SA Market
« on: September 20, 2008, 11:42:50 AM »
It looks like the San Antonio News Market is starting to heat up...KSAT vs. Time Warner.

apparently, KSAT has been running ads that time warner will be dropping KSAT from their line-up, however I received an email from the time warner website with a link..."The Truth Hurts KSAT"

http://www.thetruthhurtsksat.com/main.php

it states that KSAT lies about Time Warner dropping them, and other facts.

now essentially this should really hurt KSAT ratings.

I just wanted to hear your thoughts.

i'm sure it was a problem on my end. don't worry about it...i should have completed a few more test (as in editing other post and seeing if the same thing happened) before i posted this thread.

sorry.

edit: I apologize, it seems to be working now...i guess i should've tried 50 times more. :p

so its been quite an interesting week...between work, school, and what little i have of my free time aka life.  :P

so at the beginning of this past week, Monday, i was in 6th period - ap music theory, i get a text from my coworker, and friend, kim saying she was fired...she wouldn't tell me why though, so later i text kim's bf - john (i happen to hook 'em up) and he was like "yeah kim told me, so i'm quitting) so i was like ha ok.

so kim was a cashier, and john was a cook - 2 down right?

yeah not really, so monday i worked from 5-CL i walked in not wanting to discuss what happened to kim and john, so that day ended on a sour note, tuesday and wednesday i was off

i returned thursday to notice that more of our crew members were now gone...Kendra who was a cashier, quit because she was given an ultimatum - she couldn't go into work cause she had a doctors appt, so she ended up quitting...LeCour, also a cashier, who was our shift leader as well...ended up getting fired for stealing $20 bucks outta the safe, and Jake, our manager was moved to another location.

we also have a new location opening next month not too far from where we are, and rumor has it that the new location might be putting us out of business.

AHHHH. and thats just my work life...hahaa

They may retire Fay after all that flooding in Florida.
Fay never reached Hurricane Status.

that is the LAST thing they look at when names are retired...

IMO, i think they should. I think CNN does it to their programming.

ok so...because all the other networks do it...twc should too?

i think not.

has anyone out of pure bordem played with the music cuts from the openers, AKA sped up the speed?

since i'm too lazy, here are some cuts, place them into windows media player and use the "fast" option, hahaha the music still sounds amazing, even at a fast rate.

on EE - the "coming up" voice (when playing fast) is alexandra
on DP - the "blah blah blah" (when playing fast) is actually jennifer lopez saying "soft ball size hail..."
on WC - that noise at the beginning is my dog barking. oops.

:P....can't you tell i'm bored?

so does anyone remember that incident that occurred at my work a couple of weeks ago?

well today at 1130 during class, i got a phone call (on my cell phone), and i was like...WTF? cause i've been getting all sorts of weird numbers calling me, so at 1200 (lunch) i call back, no answer - but there was an answering machine...apparently it was some detective.

i told a few of my friends and they were like, it was probably a wrong number, and i agreed.

well i went into work today, and my GM, Teresa asked me if I had gotten a phone call from an officer concerning the incident a couple of weeks ago,, i told her i got a call from a detective and she told me yeah, thats him...i then told her he called me at 1130 - she told me that she told him i was in class, regardless he still called   <_<.

so apparently they want me to look at a picture to try to identify him, dunno if it'll happen.

well, i started to think about colleges today (certainly isn't the first time, trust me..but it's been a long summer), and decided that i should make a few college visits at TCU in Fort Worth, and Austin College in Sherman,TX (not too far north from DFW).

i'm not really sure where to begin with all this college stuff, i've done my research (not only on my free will, but as an English assignment), and still nothing. i don't know where to begin, except for SAT and ACT testing. I've already taken the SAT Test twice, and plan on taking it the third time (third times the charm, right?) and i've yet to take the ACT Test, but have already registered for the September 13 test date.

now what? lol

well today was the first day of school;

got up at 645am, watched FOX News First (to surprisingly find out that they received new weather branding "First Warning" along with new graphics [only weather graphics], and i pretty much feel in love with them) haha. left my house at 800am, got to school at 810...we were suppose to meet our "link leaders" group at like 745, but i refused to go. so the bell rung at 815 and i went to my first class, physics...overall i think i'm gonna like that class...2nd period i had government/economics, overall i think i'm gonna like that class too. 3rd was english, nothing new. 4th was PRE-CAL - ewwww. i'm gonna basically fail that class, she gave us an assignment already >_<. lol then lunch - i was really happy during that time, i got to hang out with the seniors who graduated last year, we went off campus to Double Dave's ate there, caught up with each other, and then went back to the HS at 1245, then i met up with one of my other buds, chase, who too gradated last year in the choir room, 5th period was choir - the mens section virtually tripled in size. lol, 6th period was AP Music Theory - which was really boring, and i might drop it for sociology/psychology.

i know we had a few other members start school today, and even a few of them seniors.  class of '09 rocks  :D
