Not necessarily. You can foresee winter or other inclement weather. You can't foresee a breakout of disease.

gary is right.  area schools around here will not have to make up the closed days.

Okay, H1N1 is just the normal flu, which is why it is being called H1N1.  Also, normal flu cases ALWAYS get sent in for testing, so therefore, it's just the normal flu.  Health Departments are shutting/threatening to shut down schools because of the normal flu.  BS

I am sorry, but this is not the normal flu.  Sure, it may be a little less threatening than the media or whoever is saying it is, and it could be much worse.  It is NOT KNOWN.  This is a NEW disease, and some of you on here are not understanding that,  and I am sure more and more doctors are learning something new about it every day.  This is probably why the name has been switched from  "swine" to "H1N1".  Obviously this has to be bigger than the normal flu.  Is it being taken out of proportion?  Sure, in some cases it probably is.

IMO, the name change was not smart. It implies that this is the H1N1 virus, which it is, except not THE H1N1 virus we're familiar with. I think its name should reflect its difference from our run of the mill flu. Regardless of what the pork industry wants. 

haha. tis true, but even you said it somewhere in here - the name "swine" is a little misleading, but for a completely irrelevant reason.

it'll probably have an actual name as scientist continue to study it. overall the name is going to be misleading one way or another until it has an actual name...and it may never have it's own name, who knows.

it's not an overreaction, all organizations groups are doing what they're suppose to...however overreaction would be like so: a school district closing without a confirmed case of the H1N1 Flu. -or- like our new VP's "i'm not flying any where" rant (or something similar) on the today show. the media is sorta pushing everyone into panic, and it's only because this is a new strain of a virus and viewers aren't well informed on what exactly it is, and can only believe what the media says at that point.

Right. I am telling you this real talk.

Forget what you heard about AT&T U-verse. They have interactive local forecasts for Charlotte that resembles Intellistar. If you have an issue with that, call AT&T in your area. That was a last ditch effort from Charter Communications.

I make perfect sense. Some people, and some administrators are so nit-picky, that they think all I say is a lie.
The reason on why I would make fun, which isn't fun making, about the WeatherSCAN, is because... A) I don't have nor need one. b) My firewall won't allow me on TWCToday good as it is. I don't trust anything from anyone under the age of 21. I don't even trust Google Chrome. C) Because I saw how Martin makes stingy comments to Lamarr on Taiganet. Talking about "I will make sure you NEVER get ahold of this program, and it is highly secured to deter you people from this program." You people? He's black and English, I am black, and Puerto Rican. We have more in common than that.

If you are going to party like it's 1999, don't give me the short end of the stick doing so, because a snitch signature doesn't provision a 10% warning, and a PM about getting the 10% warning discontinued doesn't constitute inappropriate behaviour, nor a 50% warning.

Lamarr would have bought this forum out, and would have made this forum a whole lot healthier than the pair of you. This is constructive criticism. Not slander or any of that rubbish.

Yes, that is also me. I was originally socool375 on everything. That all changed when that account of mine was supended on youtube back in mid-February. I opened my socool775 accounton TWCT in case I ever decided to switch over to that (my new username).
