I have a question about PM Edition's prior skyline set, did those monitors animate??

watch after the second open then the transition into Betty/Sam there is a black figure (kinda like an airplane) flying across the skyline towards the top.

i never really paid much attention

i wouldn't celebrate just yet, it always tends to fall significantly after it shoots up.

usually issues like that are with the unit itself, as a matter a fact it's a known issue...just differently.

some stars have experienced blank (black) graphics with the title bar showing, this happens to be reversed.
i'm also never up in the morning so it could have been a national issue too. haha  :bleh:

FYI... after some checking around, each STAR had the extra two LDL cities added individually. They were not done in a mass-DMA deployment.

i don't think the star team liked my suggestion to change the cities that are all on the northside. lol

Since when did "windy" become a condition on it's own during the current condition screen?

"Currently in our area...97 Degrees with windy conditions"

isn't it usually associated with the sky condition as well?

"Currently in our area...97 Degrees under cloudy skies with windy conditions"

Did anyone's cities on the LDL duplicate a city already on the local observation screen...does that defeat the purpose, or was that the main idea?

That is perfectly fine. For example, on my FiOS STAR, both Bethel Park and Penn Hills are on the local obs screen, and on the LDL. There's no problem unless there is a duplicate city on the LDL, for example a Downtown location, and then a generic city location without the "downtown" moniker.

alrighty then =]

After checking on some things, here's what I now know. When the LDL update came in '08, the additional cities were added to only the IntelliStars with the largest viewing areas, as well as all the STARs in the Atlanta and Pittsburgh DMAs. Over time, some more were added (in no order). Now, they are starting to go through and add cities to more and more IntelliStars. Hope that clears things up for some of you.

that makes sense , as of sometime tonight the feature has been added to my star.  B)

Hm, I started noticing something odd with my IS...whenever an advisory (including watches/warnings) is issued, the star displays it on the LDL/IS fine, but whenever the advisory is lifted/expired I get the Satellite LF shortly after.

we haven't had many advisory's issued this summer, but when we did have advisories this happened.

i started thinking about it after an advisory was issued for rain the in area, left for a while, came back and the Satellite LF was being displayed.

maybe it's just me :dunno:

Technically, they could. It would be a half-assed job, but they could, They never would do it that way though.
So, how were all the IntelliStars able to display three-city LDL's in one day? Were they all added ahead of time, and then all the IntelliStars rebooted this morning?

thats the thing...not all stars have that feature. mine doesn't.
