Exactly, they may be paid lower but surely everyone wants their longtime OCMs back wouldn't they? Even the average viewer may notice the layoffs as an example would be my mom who would question me about Cheryl Lemke's and Eboni Deon's wherabouts. She was disappointed to find that they were laid off after I told her the news. NBC can at least do ONE wise thing by rehiring one of the laid off OCMs back.
BTW, didn't another OCM quit TWC? I believe Sharon Resultan wanted to quit her job on TWC but this was awhile back.
Is this definetely all of NBC's doing?If so, I think that's ridiculous that they can "invade" TWC like this (even though they own the station). But since we all like to blame NBC for things they *may* not be responsible for, I just thought I'd ask.
I wonder where they get all the money to hire and pay these new OCMs.
He's another newbie. At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if Warren Madden and Ryan Goswick are indeed gone as they were rumored to be. NBC is just adding new OCMs by the week at this point. Heck, maybe some other veteran OCMs will be out the door soon, as well.
Hello all-
In case you missed the big news, I have left WGGB-TV in Springfield (as well as my Freelancing gig at WFXT-TV in Boston). I received an offer I just couldn't refuse to work at The Weather Channel. This is pretty much a dream come true for me, as it was TWC that helped get me into Broadcast Meteorology in the first place! I will be starting there on July 6th, although no work schedule or first on-air date has been set as of yet. Stay tuned!
