well we're already talking about my next year schedule and it could be as follows:

(not in order)
Enriched English IV Dual Credit
Pre-Calculus
Physics Pre-AP (or) Environmental Systems (or both)
Government & Economics
Choir IV AP
Theater Arts I

we typically have seven classes, i still dunno what i want as my last class. i might take it as an off period (7th period).

well, obviously I haven't applied to any colleges yet. but right now i'm looking at florida state, texas tech, austin college, UTSA, and a lot more colleges...over the next few months  /  beginning of the next school year, hopefully i would have narrowed them down to my top 3.

first - i said it can be replaced. secondly - my computer is over 5 years old. thirdly (if thats even a word) - i never said i was willing to buy a new one. i don't need a computer (now anyway) college is a different story, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there. the other thing of your concept is that you learn from your mistakes, even if you know what your doing can cost you to lose it.

So Al and Gil, let me try to understand your logic. What your telling me is that it has to happen or else you won't protect yourself from it? That's like saying you'll get gas AFTER you run out, or install smoke detectors AFTER your house burns to the ground.

now see thats where i draw the line. a computer is just a thing. it can be replaced. i know your just saying an example, but a computer can be replaced if it happens to be fried during a storm

Wow, those statements certainly go to show how young and inexperienced you guys are.

i for one, can truly careless to be honest. i won't be around this place long with this same computer. i only have a year left, then i'm outta here.

Quote from: Stephen
Just because you have a surge protector doesn't mean you're 100% out of the woods. A REALLY bad storm can still get through that surge protector. So, you should ALWAYS shut down (and unplug) your PC during a thunderstorm (particularly the bad ones). It's always better to be safe than be sorry.

Like Gil said, until I actually experience it, then and only then will I be cautious, but like I said above. I won't be here for long. (here as in san antonio)

I've never turned off my computer during bad storms. Up until a year ago, i didn't know you were supposed to.

Never had any storm-related damage to my equipment...

i've never turned off my computer in the event of a severe t-storm. i have a serge protector. even so i've never really worried myself about it.
