It appears Samantha is now gone from TWC as she is freelancing in the Atlanta area.
Before leaving she had been reduced to only doing the weather.com forecasts.

Well, Samantha Mohr was not my favorite meteorologist, but it is sad to see that they let another one go.

I agree, the setup to her departure doesn't appear to be the same as it was for the others that have been let go by the network. I don't know if she had to take any pay cut or anything, but I wouldn't take having to have your duties focused mainly on forecasting on weather.com videos being a promotion of any sort, if anything I would take that as being a demotion. It seems like one of those situations where if you don't leave on your own terms, then you'll have to leave on the network's terms sooner than later.

I wouldn't be surprised if she left on her own terms either.  I mean, she started at The Weather Channel on Weekend View if I remember correctly.  That did not last that long at all.

Wasn't a huge fan of her, but I hope she finds some steady work quick!

I wasn't allowed to say anything but suppose its ok now. According to JimC she was let go. He told me this in person back in October so I am assuming she stayed to finish out her contract. Right now according to her personal facebook she is "freelancing"

How long was Samantha Mohr at TWC?  For some reason, I don't think it was that long, certainly not as long as some of the veteran meteorologists who were laid off.  And, although we have now received official confirmation from Martin, I would almost want to leave myself if I was demoted from being on Weekend View, to being a freelancer at TWC, to only doing weather.com forecasts.  But maybe this was all just the "phase" TWC sent her through of being laid off.

I think around the same time I joined this forum which was back in September 2007.

At the end of August 2007. Her first appearance was on Day Planner doing the weekly planner (as other newbies did when they first joined TWC back then). She got her first permanent spot when she replaced Kelly Cass on Weekend View in late September, and then to PM Edition the following Spring. Sad HR treated her like trash after that.

Obviously the specific reason for her layoff is private and none of my business, but if it was, for any reason, the lack of personality or being too dull, then they need to get rid of Crystal Egger pronto.
