Probably because he didn't really get "fired" or leave on "his own terms"
I also remember Paul Emmick saying good bye when he left earlier this decade.

I've noticed that OCMs that leave by free will, their names are erased off of weather.com ASAP, a perfect example? Sarah Libby, and a few others who left freely.
