Just thought Kim should have her own topic. Hats off to her and Marty!
Kim Cunningham Returns to TWC! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AiVK1eBHto#)

Her name changed btw :P

Her name changed btw :P
Oh wow, I must have entered the name in subconsciously. My bad :P
-
Haha believe me I will be doing the same for a while!
-
Adam says he's going to have a hard time with her name too...Mrs. C. :P

Haha Adam is such a character! Great clip
-
I can totally see Adam wearing a leather jacket one day and channeling his inner Arthur Herbert Fonzarelli....
-
Kim returns!

I find it really odd that she has decided to be on-air with her married name. You would think that someone who is such a familiar face would want to stick with the same name. The only time I have heard of someone changing their name, is when they switch stations. Interesting.
Kim Perez, Kim Cunningham, Kim WHATEVER, she is still a good Meteorologist :)
Her and Adam Berg make a good team together.
-
Yea, I would've thought that Kim would've kept her last name, but it doesn't really matter I guess. As long as shes still a TWC I'm a happy camper. She is one of my favorites and yes her and Adam do make a good team.
-
I am very happy for Kim Cunningham. :) What I really like, though, is that she didn't expect Marty to propose to her on the show. Now that's romantic, I tell you what.

Or at the very least, go by Kim Perez-Cunningham for a while.

Or she could go by any name she wants as it's HER name?

not to mention, the board operator that keys in the lowerthird names wouldn't appreciate the fact that he was to mess around with the font size to get it to fit on the lowerthird...that name is way too long.
-
Going as Kim Perez-Cunningham for a while then Kim Cunningham would just confuse viewers even more than just coming back and using her married name right off the bat.
-
Maybe she wanted to forget about her old husband whose last name was Perez and use Cunningham all the time?
-

Her name is long, but it's not THAT long...I don't think the font size is changed at all on the L3rds.
Cunningham takes a little to get used to, but I see no problem at all with her using that name. She's still got the same first name and looks the same, so I'm sure viewers can figure out that she got married. ;)

my point exactly, if you haven't noticed...it barely fits on the two-person split lowerthird shown at the top of the hour. which is the l3rd i'm referring to...not the single ocm lowerthird shown during that ocm's presentation.

It's not any worse than the name "Alexandra Steele" which is longer :P
-
When you are good, you can do that. Kim is very good.

I don't see anything wrong with just going with her new name. People are going to have to figure it out one way or another. Like Tyler said it would just confuse people. She didn't have to change her name either.
-
Well from not on we have to call you Mrs. C. Wishing you the very best and keep up the good work
-
Vivian Brown just slipped up and called Kim "Kim Perez."

Are you related to Kim (Perez) ?
-
It caught me a bit off guard to see her now as Kim Cunningham. That will take some getting used to. Was Kim Perez her original name?
-
I know this thread is old, but I was wondering, when in the heck did Kim dye her hair back blond with bangs? I almost didn't recognize her a few minutes ago. Have I distanced myself from TWC for that long?

Trust me, I didn't recognize her either. :P Probably because I haven't watched her in awhile. I don't know when she did that.

Kim really does look different that she has. She looks like to me she's lost a little weight in her face/neck area and she's gotten a little more wrinkles... the hair really threw me off. I liked it better the other way.

There was one time I saw her back in 2009 and she looked like she may have had some botox work done on her face. No offense to her, but she looked bad.
-
IMO, her short hair she had back in the late 90s/early 00s was much better.
-
She looks great with short or long hair, two good examples right here.

I saw her last night. She does look different with that Rihanna blonde hair. :P

I thought she looked quite different with reddish hair.
Her hair was even more blonde before she cut it short in that top picture.

Much like Carl Parker, Kim is also getting the lower third label of "Hurricane Specialist" when she's at the Expert Desk.
-
Kim seems to know what she's doing on-air usually and she's been working in the field a lot longer than many of the other OCM's TWC has now. I guess that title works for her attm, given the situation.
-
She mentioned once during Debby (?) she used to be a hurricane hunter before she started at TWC.
-
According to Mark Elliot and based on what I've been seeing the past few days, Kim is now a Storm Specialist and a Hurricane Specialist.

OK, I think Kim does a good job and congrats to her, but why do we need more Storm/Hurricane specialists? TWC seems to be going overboard with that title lately - pretty soon everyone is going to be referred to as a Storm Specialist or Hurricane Specialist.

I think the title is rightfully given to Kim. She has enough meteorological experience, especially with her background with the Hurricane Hunters, to be called a "specialist."
-
Agreed.....I have seen her on TWC since at least 1991. You'd think just with that experience alone, she has studied a lot. Combine that with her work in the Air Force and Hurricane Hunter. Both fit.
....and she's a Cincinnati native!
