Will Jim Cantore be leaving TWC soon?
There are rumors that Jim Cantore will be moving to MSNBC in 2009, and NBC's Al Roker will take his place
-
If that is true, I'm guessing there are going to be a few less people watching TWC. This would not be a good move for the Weather Channel's future.
-
LOL. Wikipedia. Need I say more?
-
Yeah,I don't buy it for a second.
-
That's why I rarely use Wikipedia for sources. Once somone put Cheryl Lemke was a former OCM and deceased in the article.
-
I hoped that was true. It goes to show you to never trust Wikipedia.
-

I sure hope Cantore wont leave TWC. It will not be the same without him. (TWC without Cantore = :foolish: )
-
Yeah, it won't be the same.
And, Jim is one of my favorite OCMs.
-
I'm not even going to respond to this one. :)

Me neither... BUT I will say that I'd be outraged if Jim Cantore left The Weather Channel, period.
-
I hope he doesn't leave. He's been on the network for 22 years (I think).
-
Yeah, he has because that was his first job out of college.
-
Jim Cantore is the legend of TWC. People turn to him during severe weather and hurricanes. He's not leaving unless he himself chooses to leave, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. Judging from his presentations he seems to enjoy himself at TWC.
-
I don't buy it. Why would Jim decide to go from The Weather Channel to frickin' MSNBC? And why would Al Roker take his place, when he isn't even a meteorologist, but a weather presenter?
I would definetly stop watching The Weather Channel, if Cantore left. End of. That's one of the only ways TWC could possibly get any worse.
-
He's leaving? Well, that's Wikipedia for ya!
-
I doubt Cantore is leaving
But, if he was, it wouldn't be the end of the world, or at lest, it shouldn't be. It'd just be the TV biz for ya. People come (stay) and go. He'll leave eventually.
-
He better not be leaving! :)
-
LOL. Wikipedia. Need I say more?
No no... Wikipedia, AND Roland... Need I say more? :P
-
If he leaves I will be devastated. He is one of my FAVORITE OCM's

We don't think he's leaving. B)
-
He didn't leave. Neither did we think he would.
-
Let's hope he doesn't. It won't be the same without him :(
-
i guess its worth mentioning that jim and paul were having a convo wednesday i think, although I wasn't able to hear the whole thing jim said:
thats good, maybe that'll help renew my contract
or something along those lines... :dunno:
-
That's interesting Al. Anybody see that? Possibly have a YT video?
-
:hmm: Meaning: He's gonna stay after all??? IF they renew his contract???
-

I think it's up to him if he wants to renew his contract... I wouldn't doubt that TWC wants him to stay.
-
Who knows?
-
let's hope he stays!!! :)

I have to agree with Billy on that one...

You agree with three dots?
:P
They're just there as a placeholder because you can't enter a message with nothing. My main intent of that post was just to attach that video.

oh :blushing: lol fair enough... hopefully TWC will renew his contract.
-
Hmm, Jim just said that he has some responsibilities to in NBC New York next week.
-
Very Interesting..
Maybe they've told Cantore that there's a possibility his contract won't be renewed. :dunno: From the way it sounds, he doesn't want to leave.
-
If he leaves, I hope they replace him with Sean McLaughlin from Phoenix's CBS affiliate. He used to be MSNBC's Chief Meteorologist, but he liked CBS 5 better though.

 ....
thats all i've gotta say.
-
Don't roll your eyes at me young man!
-
Replace him with a fella named Dave Schwartz.
-
Don't roll your eyes at me young man!
...and you are...?
:whistling:
-
11. =D
-
I miss Dave!!! :cry3:
-
Hmm, Jim just said that he has some responsibilities to in NBC New York next week.
He was on the Today Show on NBC this morning, in place of Al Roker. I didn't see or hear why, but I'm assuming Roker took the week off for Christmas. I'll watch tomorrow morning to see if I can confirm anything.
-
:hmm:
I should see that for myself tomorrow....since I woke up late this morning.
-
Never liked Cantore.
I'd rather have Dave.
-
Jimi is definitely just subbing for Roker. He was on again this morning, dressed in a LL Bean winter weather "jump suit" with the Weather Channel Logo. At the end of his forecast he said "for all of your weather, see my buddies over at the Weather Channel".
-
He's stayin :)
-
He's stayin :)
did he say he was staying?
-
He doesn't have to.
-
He doesn't have to.
He probably doesn't. However, he knows how vital he is to TWC; he is practically the face of TWC. So, he is staying. :thrilled:
