According to the following article, Jennifer has been hired by NBC 5 in Dallas, TX to do the weather on their morning show. Here's the article:

Which prompts me to ask, is she still with TWC?
-
I guess until June .
-
Jeesh. Dave's gonna be doing ALL the shows himself soon. That's incredible.
-
Wow Jenn is leaving? That's terrible! I watched her for years! And yes she is still with TWC.
-
Wow, a lot of anchors have been leaving TWC in the past two years! Paul Kocin, Hillary, Warren (from his full-time job), Sarah, Bob, Dao, and now Jennifer?
I never really cared much for Jennifer anyway. I wonder who will replace her in Day Planner? Maybe Dave, Carl, or Eboni?
-
I mainly remembered Jennifer when she used to work in Evening Edition back in July and August 2005. It was the pairing with her and paul that i fondly remember.
-
Nah, It definitely was before that, that Jennifer was on Evening Edition. I'm sure guru Steve can help up out :P
Congrats for Jennifer on her new job! Apparently she got a REALLY good offer, or was just looking for something different.
I assume, as Dan said, she will be on The Weather Channel til June
btw..thanks for the find , Gary
-
Jennifer left Evening Edition as her normal spot in March 2005, but she has appeared as a fill-in from time to time after that.
-
She wasn't there too frequently but usually I'd see here back then on Thurs and Fridays
-
This sucks. Jennifer was always one of my favorite OCMs at TWC. I was just thinking this past weekend how much I enjoyed her on Weekend View. Eboni better not take Jen's spot; if anything, Eboni should be fired for not speaking the English language properly.
-
Jennifer was also one of my favorite TWC OCMs... esp when paired with Carl Parker on PME.
BTW... Mike said Dao left... this true? I wasn't aware...
Also... to avoid fighting... I did post this story at TWCC, but was unaware it was already here. I found the story on Google News a bit ago... so please, lets not fight. Thanks. :)
-
That's too bad. I guess stepping down to local affiliates is a big thing nowadays in the national cable TV industry. There is no doubt, because of this, TWC will be hiring a new personality.
I find it interesting that she is leaving immediately prior to the HD launch. :P
I didn't know Dao left either; is there a link to where that is discussed? :whistling:

And yeah, her name is gone from TWC Media Kit, so I think it's safe to assume she's gone, and Weekend View is now OCMs-only.
You know, I've noticed a lot of homogenization among TWC programming. Back in January, A&B dropped the Audience Barometer, added the Weekly Planner, and became a lot more weather-oriented. From watching this past weekend's show, I noticed that WV still retains some show-specific segments, but WV now seems to be much like any other show, just done from a fancy set with a couch.

I'm very glad you mentioned something. I was very disappointed for a moment.

They don't have the audience barometer anymore? :o I liked that.
I agree, that A&B and Weekend View is becoming like any other show now. These shows were suppose to be more "entertaining." If no one likes that, then why not drop those shows?

Who said anything about any one not likeing the show :whistling:
I'm pretty sure that if no one was watching the shows, then TWC wouldn't air them ;). Keep in mind, we are only a small percentage (very very small) of the TWC viewers.
I may consider watching Weekend View, now that Dao Vu is off the show, and they actually have people who know what they are talking about...
And it will be interesting to see who takes Jennifer's spot. I agree about Eboni, she has got to go. Her on-air presentation is not good at all :hmm:

We may be only a small percentage of TWC's viewership, but we're also the most visible, and that shows, because they seem to listen to what we have to say.
Anyway, I think we've veered away from the topic, don't you?
-
Yes i think we did and Jennifer was an awesome OCM she was very enthusiastic and liked to have fun on-set im going to miss her :(
-
I'm gonna miss her too. I gues she found her nes job more interesting then the current state TWC is in :(

Yeah. I checked here a few minutes after posting that just because I was planning on coming back tonight, saw this thread, and was like "SOB. Gary's gonna flip." :ninja:

Hehe, no worries. It's cool. :sunglasses:

I'm wondering if Jennifer decided to seek other employment opportunities after she was taken off of PM Edition. It wouldn't surprise me if that was the case.

Honestly, that was my first thought as well. Talk about a downgrade of employment... from PME (prime time) to a fill-in/weekend OCM. I'd be pretty pissed, too. :furious:

Agreed. I certainly wouldn't have thought twice to do the same thing. :furious:
-
Good for her, although she's one of the best OCMs and certainly didn't deserve to lose PM Edition, especially to Kelly Cass.
I'll miss her tons and will have to enjoy the next month we have together!

Me too...

Jennifer just got mentioned this morning on First Outlook by Jeff and Jen when they said, "Speaking of Dallas, our former colleague Jennifer Lopez is working out there now, and she's going to be busy keeping up with all of the action out there this morning."
-
Jennifer is working @ KXAS NBC 5 in Dallas/Ft. Worth, but only on NBC 5 Today (5-7 AM CT/6-8 AM ET)
-
Roland, we're WELL aware of that factoid. ;)
-
No one posted about that Jennifer is working in KXAS
