I found a very interesting article about Jeanetta this morning. Her departure had nothing at all to do with TWC or anything going on there. Read the article for more:

Wow! Thanks for the article Gary, I'm Glad she's still alive.
-
Yeah I was shocked when I read what happened to her. It's a wonder she didn't get killed. And its amazing that it was kept a secret for so long. It would be great to see her overcome her problems and return to work, but I guess that isn't very likely. :(

I hope she ends up coming back but that might not be for at least for a couple years (maybe more) due to the still lasting effects of the accident and injury :hmm:
-
I thought we already knew she was involved in an accident?
never the less the article is brutal. wow that must really suck. :(
-
I musta been left out of the loop, causei sure was unaware. I certainly didn't know it was the reason she suddenly disappeared from TWC.
-
I remember hearing that she had been in an accident a while back (I think one of the OCMs that day had even mentioned it, from what I heard), but I didin't know it was that bad. That's terrible hearing about what had happened to her. :(
-
I read this thread (https://twctodayforums.com/forums/index.php/topic,1178.0.html) about her and it said it was unofficial. But now I know that she had been in a car accident. That's so sad that she has to live with so many fears and a permanent injury. I did admire Jeanetta, before I moved around 2006 I wondered whatever happened to her and now I know. :(
-
I remember this being mentioned somewhere too, but not about Jeanetta. I remember reading that an OCM mentioned that one of their own was in a car accident. I can't believe it's been nearly 2 and a half years since she's been gone! What a horrible situation for her to go through! I, too, am glad that she is okay!
-
I'm glad we found out about this, but the news is awful.
I remember seeing unconfirmed rumors about this at the time.
Its hard to think that she is permanently debilitated.
-
I know she won't be returning to be an OCM, but hopefully one day, TWC will let her speak on air sometime in the future about what happened and everything as I'm sure a lot of loyal viewers were worried.
-
but hopefully one day, TWC will let her speak on air sometime in the future about what happened and everything
As sad as it is, I highly doubt that will happen.

I agree. That was a very traumatizing accident that happened to her. If she's too skittish to go to malls with her daughter, I highly doubt she'd go on camera in front of millions of people. That's a very sad story.

hmmm.... you have a point. It's a shame we won't see her on TWC anymore :(
-
And even if she was healthy enough, I doubt TWC would want her to. I mean, lets be real here, she's no Jim Cantore. ;)

She's still one of the more recognizable faces at TWC. I think she deserves more credit then your giving here.

That was kind of rude...I think what she needs is thoughts and prayers but not to be on TV, because she's skittish in malls, where 5000 people, tops, would be. I don't think she'd be able to go in front of a million people, though. I'm praying she makes a full recovery somehow.
-
Wow... I got a little teary eyed just reading that article. Thats something that hardly ever happens to me. Poor Jeanetta. :( I wish the best for her and her family. She needs to take care of herself first then worry about getting on with her life.
-
"We were watching the show '24,' and she couldn’t remember who Jack Bauer was," said Jerilyn. Nobody who watches the popular drama on Fox would ever forget the name of the show’s hero.
What? Who can forget Jack!?! (I watch that show btw)
It is amazing that he lived. I know a story similar to this, and the same things happened to Jeanetta as this girl in a true story. She had all of these things happen, she was in the hospital, they were removing glass from her face, and all of that stuff. Three years later, she began getting severe seizures. Lets hope that wont happen to Jeanetta...
-
I REALLY, really miss Jeanetta. She was a very pleasant, and hard working OCM who always did best with her job in a professional and experienced manner. I remembered watching her all the time on Day Planner back on early 2006, 2005 and 2004 and also back during the late 90s through 2002. (I don't think there was a Day Planner in 04?). It's a shame to see how careless some people are to others and let go with incidents like this. I hope Jeanetta comes back to TWC soon, we all miss her. I'm just glad that she's doing well and recovering.
-
Day Planner started September 29, 2003, Victor.
-
What a horrible story. I hope Jeanetta is doing better; she was a very good OCM.

LOL thanks for the clear-up. :)
-
The way that this accident happened is no surprise to me because that's how idiots drive around here, but the fact that this careless inconsiderate jerk not only mentally and physically hurt Jeanetta but they could have killed her really burns me up. I can't imagine going through something like that, but I'm very happy to hear that's she's recovering well. :)

I have a half hour of footage of Afternoon Outlook in 2005 with Jeanetta on tape if you guys are interested. They're all broken down into four segments (including a few old AO graphics).

That is so sad. She was my favourite when I was little in the early to mid 90s. I had thought she was so pretty like Barbie. When my friend and I played with the barbies, my barbie was always named Jeanetta.

I have to agree as well. Man, I miss her on TWC. :(
-
She is greatly missed but I think she is enjoying her work with her church and that is the most important thing..... enjoying life
-
She will never be back at TWC. Neither will any of the others that have left. It's not that kind of place. Sad how the whole deal transpired. She is a class act and I enjoyed working with her.

Your opinion counts a lot as you worked with her, so I'm glad we all agree that she was a great OCM. I definitely miss seeing her on the air from the good old days of TWC.

You would know best Rich! TWC just doesn't make moves like that. Are you still in contact with her? She was an amazing woman from what i saw and I hope life is treating her well.

Oh wow didn't know it was her birthday. Hope she is doing well :) Thanks for posting and welcome btw
-
I have always wanted to know what happened to her. I watched her every day. she was the best and one of the prettiest on TV. I had was told she quit and opened a boutique. now i wish that was what happened. I hope she get well and would love to see her back at the TWC in front of the camera, ands don't care if it is just pushing the remote for someone.take care and god bless.
-
Sadly, I don't think she's ever going to be able to resume her career.
-
Not that I forgot what happened, but these latest posts made me want to read the article again, and what a truly devastating story and fate for Jeanette. I certainly do hope 2011 is bringing about a better year for her. :)
-
One can hope that she's reached a point in her recovery, both physical and emotional, that allows her to take part in activities that she enjoys, and that she's able to enjoy what she can do as opposed to worrying about what she's no longer able to do.
-
jeanetta, i hope you are getting better and life is treating you good. me and many other people still miss you. the weather channel will never ever again be what it was when you were there.
