The station web site claims she will debut tomorrow, as will new chief meteorologist Mike LaPoint, most recently in Pittsburgh on their NBC affiliate, WPXI. Former chief Jim Flowers left at the end of 2012.

From what i read on her bio she was born and raised in Omaha so she is on her hometown network. Congrats to her!
-
Awesome! I was sad to hear of Jim's firing around Christmas, so this is great news!

It's good to see her. She did a great job filling in for two meteorologists on maternity leave in South Bend, Indiana. Paul Emmick is now there as chief meteorlogist at WSBT-TV.

The only thing about WOWT - do they really need FIVE meteorologists? Somebody doesn't get much airtime.

Don't worry, I wasn't talking about Cantore. :) Jim Flowers was the Chief Meteorologist at WOWT for many years. Before that he worked for many years at KETV (our ABC affiliate). So he was one of my local TV forecasters since I was a kid. He was fired at the end of last year under mysterious circumstances.

Wow, that was fast. :fear:

Sad. She's such a great meteorologist and she has a wonderful on-air presence.
-
I hate how it is so cut-throat.
Cheryl Lemke did a really good job at WSBT when the station was severely short-handed.
I thought she was from Omaha, too.

Yep, that's the dick world of TV business. They can give you a job one second and the then the next second you find yourself buried underneath a bus.
