Okay, here's a topic to discuss Carl Parker since we don't yet have one.
He's wearing his glasses today; I haven't seen him wear glasses for a long time.
-
Me neither, i like Carl. He's nice and has a pleasant voice

I don't think I can say I've ever seen him wear glasses.
-
The last time I remember him wearing glasses was in 2006; not sure if he's worn them since then.
-
I saw him wear glasses last July
-
I saw him wearing glasses the other day when he was on Weather Center.

Ah, I wasn't home that day. It figures he would wear them on a day I wasn't home. :P

You know how normally Jim Cantore stands at the desk while Alexandra sits down, and it looks like they're nearly level with each other? Well, someone tonight decided to let Carl *stand* in Jim's spot next to Alexandra, who was sitting down. He was pretty much towering over her; you could tell the camera operator was having issues deciding how to frame the shot. :P
-
Gotta love it when they make it hard for the cameraman.
-
Every time I've tuned in the past few weeks, I see Carl! Obviously he's subbing for everyone, but it feels like far and away he's logged the most hours recently. Yesterday Day Planner(?) with JLo and today Weather Center with Mike Seidel (both are good pairings, though!)
-
He worked with Jennifer yesterday? I knew I should've taped it. :(
Yeah, even though he's lost his permanent weekday spot, he's got a lot of responsibilities as a primary fill-in for almost every show Monday-Wednesday and even Thursday-Friday on EE if he's needed.

or even the weekend...IIRC he was on weekend now last weekend.

Nope, he wasn't.
-
i know for a fact he was with jennifer over the weekend, sometime. unless it was two weekends ago.

Yes - that is correct.
-
Carl's wearing his awesome red-orange and white striped tie today. I don't think he's worn that one since he left PM Edition.
-
Tonight on EE, Carl Parker began the first Weekly Planner with his signature Jet Stream forecast and then suggested to people dealing with mosquitoes as a result of flooding that they buy some bats (as in the animals) since they eat mosquitoes. Gotta love Carl!
-
Yeah,I know! :D He seems very nice too!
-
So, outflow boundaries become visible on radar when bugs fly along them? I don't think I ever realized that before...

Yupp.

Carl Parker to all of the people going nuts and hoarding gasoline:
"Knock it off, folks."
Oh man, he told them! Owned. :D

If he swore, like Mike Bettes does sometimes,it would've really been an "owned" moment.
-
Carl: Scattered Stores, uhh excuse me Scattered Storms into the Ohio Valley. lol :P
-
Oh great, there they go again messing up the forecast presentations.
-
Wow, Carl Parker's reputation as the AMAZING FACTS GUY really held true tonight. When they went to introduce him tonight at the end of the early Evening Edition, he immediately picked up his pen, turned toward Mike, Steph, and the viewers and was like, "Do you know how thick lightning is? Well, it's *this* thick! Amazing stuff." Ahh, good ol' Carl. Rock on. :salute:
-
 Carl is one awesome guy. I miss watching him on weekdays. Now he's on weekends. :(
-
They seem to be experimenting with having Carl on EE Monday-Wednesday even if Paul and Jim are working and as long as he's not needed to fill-in elsewhere. I wonder if that's going to continue this week or not.
-
I actually saw him on EE tonight. I think he was on his own. I wasn't sure if Paul or Adam was on. I only saw one segment of it.

Carl was on with Jim and Paul tonight.
-
Thanx. :)

I like Carl. I like how he always gives these random facts and knows what he is talking about.
He is interesting to watch and listen to, since he puts emotion into what he talks about :D
-
I haven't seen Carl lately. Does any body know what show he's on right now?? :dunno:

Carl is off this week. AFAIK, his shift is Weekend Now Saturday/Sunday, and Day Planner Monday-Wednesday.
-
Thanks.
-
I just learned an interesting fact from Carl...
1 inch of rain over 1 acre of land is equal to about 30,000 gallons of water. I did not know that!
This is one of the reasons I like watching him... random but interesting facts
Is he ok? His voice seems to have deepened and he is not putting any emotion into anything he says. Perhaps he caught what Mike did? :dunno:
-
Hmmm...I see him fine, but could be.
:hmm:
I'll keep watching.
-
Glad to know I wasn't the only one thinking the same thing. It does sound like he was a bit under the weather.
-
I woke up shocked this morning to see Carl on YWT. I'm glad he was though.
-
Wow, I guess I'm bringing this topic up from the dead :P
I was looking through Facebook, and The Weather Channel posted a link to an article that Carl had typed about the recent up-tick in sun activity. I thought it was an interesting read myself.

Carl usually does write interesting, detailed blog posts once in a while. This one was an interesting read, I will have to agree.

I've read his blog, too. It is interesting, so I'll keep an eye on it. I think he and Heather Tesch do a great job on Weekend Now, though I enjoy Heather Tesch's presentation more.

I also enjoy Carl and Heather on Weekend Now. They both have a great presentation and know what they are talking about. B)
