This whole fiasco is happening throughout the news world (local/regional but with no lawsuits such as big as this if there is any confirmed) so i don't really seem that surprised they made a move like this

Anything to attract viewership (younger & attractive meteorologist) to younger anchors/reporters/sportscasters the game is $$$ thats what this day in age of media boils down to.

I hate to say it but you're right. When people tune into tv (myself included), they'd rather see a smoking, hot, young girl rather than a old, saggy, wrinkly woman (not that Alex was any of those things). It's just the facts. Younger personalities recruits younger viewers, which boosts ad sales. Quite sad, but true.

I think the bottom line is Alex was a great OCM. I wasn't a huge fan of her during her stunt on YWT, but once she returned from maternity leave and moved to the evening hours, she really grew on me. Her and Jim were the perfect pair, the always worked well together. I fail to see how TWC can justify breaking up a good pair of OCMs for a younger, less personable OCM like Egger.

In early October it was brought to my attention that Alexandra Steele had most likely been let go. This was also the belief of several of my sources/friends who are familiar with the situation at The Weather Channel. I would like to point out that I would NOT make a topic unless I believed the information I received was factual and accurate. Over time the story has changed a little bit.


Here are the facts:
Alexandra is NOT on vacation leave
Alexandra is NOT on medical leave
Alexandra is NOT currently working at The Weather Channel (meaning on air, behind the scenes, etc)
Alexandra IS in some dispute with The Weather Channel

If you do not wish to discuss in speculation please refrain from posting in this topic. If you wish to dispute my facts, please contact me. Thanks everyone
