Update?
« on: January 05, 2009, 03:35:13 PM »
I don't know about anyone else, but my star has been messing up alot lately. LOT8's over commercials and satellite forecasts coming for lot8's. Errors on my star only happen when a update is coming. It's been true every time and I think this time. Today, it is working again. The Current conditions narration has been removed from my star and it just looks like its a higher quality picture today. Anyone else?

Locals over the commercials is directly the fault of someone/something not cuing the STAR properly.

CC narration won't be present on one-minute Locals in extreme situations (it's not exactly what Billy posted earlier in regards to 1min versions...but it's gotta be something related).

It only happens during these conditions:

  • One-minute local forecast
  • Weather Bulletins screen is activated
  • Precipitation is on the radar
  • Local Radar page is needed

From what I heard early today, they are, and have been aware of the problem for some time, and have yet to focus in on a cause. To put it simply, they have no idea whats causing the issue.

Locals over the commercials is directly the fault of someone/something not cuing the STAR properly.
No one controls it, its all part of a rundown thats in sync with master. Its problaly something like a GPI miss-fire.

theres your problem...we rely on technology for everything and when something fails, we don't know what causes it.

Its interesting. I'm of the opinion that the people running the technology should know how to fix it when it goes on the fritz. I thought it was pretty funny that the people responsible for it are as clueless as you and I.
