The Weather Channel Holiday CD
« on: November 16, 2008, 01:33:55 PM »
Just in time for the holidays - this all-new compilation of music from The Weather Channel, Winter Wonderland, captures classic holiday jazz tunes by artists like Chet Baker, Scott Hamilton, Bill Evans, and Bobby Timons. You'll also hear favorites like ""Christmas Time is Here"" from the Charlie Brown Christmas album by Vince Guaraldi.

Wow that's cool! That's sure smart of them to make such a CD for the holidays.

Can't say I'm surprised to see TWC releasing a Christmas album.

The listing can be found on iTunes. Look for these tunes to air on Holiday 2008, the same way TWC Smooth Jazz I/II aired along with maybe a few n/a tunes, like Chris Geith ( again) or Jeanne Ricks

Horrible. Never heard of any of these artists. I'm not looking forward to this.

Located & listened to song samples from the CD. None of the artists except for Vince Guaraldi have ever played on the locals I'm aware of. What a bummer  :(. Wonder why they decided to use unfamiliar tunes? If these are the selections we'll be hearing this Xmas, well ... we won't go there.

I honestly don't think those are the only tunes we'll hear. Do you really think they'll break their streak of David Arkenstone airing on the LF? His songs have aired for at least 20 years now I think. I would be shocked to not hear his songs after all these years. same for Vince Guaraldi and Michael Colone.

You never know with TWC. I can just see them hyping this CD and only playing these songs. I really hope in wrong.

Frankly, IMO I think its about time TWC changed it up a little with the Holiday music...theyve been playing the same artists - Arkenstone, Guaraldi (since 99), Rafkin, Colone, Glotzer, Liebert - most notably since 2003

The question is, can they find anything BETTER? Anyone whose watched TWC for any length of time knows that Christmas music hasn't always been one of their strong points.
