Title: STAR TRACKER
Post by: XL FANIC on January 30, 2011, 02:29:37 PM
Okay. I'm new to the chat page and I thought about tracking where Weather Stars are located!
Here is how it works

YOU MUST AND I MEAN MUST PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING
The type of STAR
The cable company (If you have Comcast and on the menu it says Xfinity put Xfinity down
The Channel SD and HD (if your cable company carrys it) If it has the INTELLI STAR 2 PLEASE TELL ABOUT IT AND IF YOU CAN UPLOAD PICTURES OR VIDEOS

Text or logo based ID
Almanac or Tides
FOR 4000S
Degradation (ONLY IF IT HAS IT)
EXAMPLES
Color Changes
Red Hot Tomato Sun Icons
Green Dragon on the Alamanc (PLEASE PUT WHAT MOON IT IS ON)
Color Changes on the Radar
Alamanc does not work
FOR THE XL
If it has Vocal Local
FOR THE INTELLI STAR
The products that it shows
If it showed Traffic from Traffic Pulse (this was removed on ALL SYSTEMS IN DECEMBER)
FOR THE WEATHER SCAN
The products

If you can add
PICTURES AND VIDEOS

And thats about it. But first to show how to do it here are 2 examples

NORWOOD
WEATHER STAR XL
XFINITY
47 SD 847 HD
Logo (However it has not showed since 2009) Who knows where it went
Tides This is strange. I do not live in Boston and the observation site is the NWS Boston office in Taunton.
NORWOOD
WEATHER STAR XL
NORWOOD LIGHT BROADBAND (The Local Guys)
11 SD
LOGO?
Almanac

Canton/Foxboro might still be using the XL but they use the same Obs site Taunton, MA but there was an XL on the Orange/Lee System on Time Warner in the Berkshires.

You might be right about Canton because that is where it is located. My area serves Norwood/Westwood. However I think in Foxboro might have the Intelli star because I have seen one in Mansfield. They both have Taunton as the observation site. However I saw a video on You Tube from Chatham and that was a XL but used Chatham as the observation site. The other cable company in Norwood (Norwood Light Broadband) has a XL and Norwood is the observation site. Also do you know the channel number for the XL in the Berkshires?

A thread for what you want already exists here, but you don't need to demand us to give out every piece of info for a STAR:
