Yeah that's probably my favorite. :) Yeah but it is a nice treat to hear something different for a change.

I'm not sure it wasn't at 1:18 this morning.

I'd make the case that visually, the channel looked much more like a slapdash college project prior to the 2013 update. You had, at that point, five years worth of differing graphics packages, many of them poorly done or very generic. There was no unifying brand, visual or otherwise. Simplified as the current package may be, it's incredibly clean, unified, and a distinct visual brand that they can identify with. To me, the current brand is a classic example of "less is more." Every icon, for example, gives you a very clear idea of conditions expected. Could a previous set with skeumorphic gradients, shading, and animations do the same thing? Sure. Does it need any of those things to serve its purpose? Nope. Design is very much cyclical, if you study the channel's history. I'm sure a rebrand will come within the next few years, but I'd expect it to be an evolution of the current brand, not a full revolution, like 2013 was. Visual tastes differ from person to person, but, you have to give them credit for making an honest effort to unify their visual identity for the first time since 2008, and arguably since 2003.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

What also impresses me is that they've been continuing to maintain their graphics and format without sprinkling in some new openers/graphics along the way, something they've failed to do during all their previous campaigns since the Bringing Weather to Life era started.

Most likely no, my bet is on Saturday if they follow through with a 4-day schedule. They played it on the 1st and the 5th so maybe the 9th. I don't know...... Whenever really is fine with me.

Personally, I wish they would keep it on everyday, but mix in the production music as well...
But I guess I'm with you, I'm just thankful they are playing smooth jazz at all...

My preference is that they play it all the time but that's not gonna happen. :(

Personally, I don't hate the Production music, something just needs to be done, because the production songs have grown very stale.

They have four options...
1.) Do Nothing/ Keep the same Production songs
2.) Go all Smooth Jazz
3.) Switch to Vocal music
4.) Add more production songs

Personally options 1 and 4, would to be the most likely, and budget friendly options...

They should play both the Jazz and production music. It's a very simple solution. This whole thing of switching to Jazz for a day honestly feels like a tease. I'm taking a break from twc until they make up their minds. Some may call it an overreaction but it's just growing old.

I know, if you look at TWC's Facebook and Dave Clark's Twitter, it's no secret that people like it, so why not keep something people like? I just feel a disconnect from them.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.. But if I remember correctly, they used to have on-staff an employee whose job was to solely scout music for the monthly playlist. And while scouting for music, I'm sure venturing the cost of playing said music to the licensing outfit was a task in itself. I think the uphill battle here is dealing with a double edge sword.. Hiring someone who will sit on payroll and be responsible for finding music which will fit well with their brand, and also spending money on licensing that music for so many plays.

While we would like them to hire someone to do that job, it might not be in the payroll and feasible for costs for licensing said music. If it was me, I would be more concerned with on-air programming than the LF music. I'm talking strictly from a business perspective.

Perhaps, but it could always be worse....

Still gives me nightmares from high school trips to Canada. One song. All year. Every day. Over and over.
