I didn't see a topic for this already, so I thought I'd create one.
Saw a satellite LF with IntelliStar LDL at 11:28 AM ET.
-
IntelliStar now running over commercials.
-
Billy, are u gonna post that satellite lf chart here?
-
Billy, are u gonna post that satellite lf chart here?
Sure...
Documented Satellite LF sightings (January 25, 2007-February 13, 2008):

I think there is a frequent problem with your headend Billy. You seem to be constantly getting problems with your intellistar and such
-
I rarely see satellite forecasts, then again I only watch TWC on average an hour a day.
-
Satellite LF with Trammell 2:00 PM ET.
-
Yesterday the satellite lfs kicked in at the same time as well
-
1:00 AM ET. Trammell with Satellite LF.
-
Satellite LF 1:58 PM ET.
-
Satellite LF 3:29 AM ET.
-
Satellite LF 3:59 AM ET.
-
And another one at 4:29 AM ET.
-
And one at 4:38 AM. I think this might have to do with DST because my IntelliStar is still working (showing LDLs and crawls).
-
And as predicted, one at 4:48 AM. I think I'm headed to sleep. My VCR is rolling.
-
I hope you caught that Eddie Reasoner song! :thrilled:
-
I hope you caught that Eddie Reasoner song! :thrilled:
Oh yeah that would be sweet!
-
Lucky you. I wish I could see satellite forecasts round the clock without having to switch to satellite.
-
1:18 AM ET. Satellite for about 10 seconds, then STAR kicked in.
-
Satellite LF at 2:08 AM ET, then the STAR kicked in about 5 or 10 seconds late.
-
Satellite LF 9:38 PM ET.
-
12:58 AM ET. IntelliStar froze midway through the local forecast, then Satellite LF appeared.
-
Satellite LF 1:58 AM ET, then IntelliStar kicked in late.
-
There was definitely an issue going on there; a sponsor insert appeared after the WWCH bumper at 1:00 AM CT, but whoever was in master had the skill to immediately switch right over to the taped broadcast without having to go to the emergency feed and sort things out from there.
-
Yeah, there's some issues. Between 6:20 & 6:30AM, I've got no STAR, the first commercial had no video (Trammell kicked it for a few seconds), and the audio was out for a few seconds during the Local. When they came back for Weekend Outlook at 6:30, they had problems coming live from their opener.
-
12:58 AM ET. IntelliStar froze then cut to Satellite LF. The same thing happened at the same time last night.
-
Satellite LF 7:38 PM ET.
-
Satellite LF - 2:28 AM ET, then IntelliStar kicks in late.
-
Intellistar is tops!!!!!
-
Intellistar is tops!!!!!
What?
-
Satellite LF at 2:28 AM ET, then IntelliStar kicked in about 10 seconds late, and then froze several times during the forecast.
-
Satellite LF at 2:08 AM ET.
-
Satellite LF at 2:18 AM ET...
-
Another satellite LF here at 2:28 AM ET.
I think this may be related to DST. Under the old regulations, Daylight Saving should've started this weekend, and like last month when DST started, we saw some satellite LFs, too.
-
And guess what, another satellite LF at 2:38 AM ET. My friend, I believe we have a good old fashioned outage on our hands! :rofl2:
-
Good point about the DST, Dave!
-
Whoa, my TWC is frozen. I have a frozen image of Bill Keneely in front of skytracker. The LDL time says 7:41 too.
Please, go to the satellite and Trammell already!
-
At 1:43 PM ET, they were showing an Epic Conditions segment, then in the middle of it, it cut to a shot of 1A for nearly a minute, then went to a black screen, then cut to emergency feed/satellite LF with Trammell.
-
Emergency feed satellite LF and Trammell appeared during what should've been the LOT8s opener at 1:48 AM ET.
-
Satellite LF at 2:08 AM ET.
-
Satellite LF @ 7:07am with no lf opener
-
Satellite LF 4:18 PM ET.
-
Damn! I didn't watch. Thanks to you.
-
Another satellite LF 4:28 PM ET.
-
I just recorded a video @ 3:28pm and nothing happen to my IntelliStar.
-
Satellite LF 3:08 PM ET.
-
3:58 PM CDT. Blank station ID at :57. I assume this is only affecting my STAR, seeing as no one else has posted yet.
Edit: No black bar during programming. My STAR must be down or rebooting.
-
Satellite LF, no music at 1:50 AM ET.
-
And that answers a few things...
1) Yeah, the emergency feed has the new look.
2) Yeah, it still says "Additional forecasts at weather.com" in white underneath the LDL; the "weather.com" text underneath the logo is blue on the Daypart and 3-Day products.
-
It looks like they've completely lost the live studio broadcast. Oh well, that's a wrap on live programming, right? (Unless they went live earlier; I wasn't home to watch)
-
Hmm, you'd think that we would hear Trammell and not complete silence during that outage. I wonder if yesterday's satellite LF update somehow broke the emergency feed/Trammell music?
-

I thought the same thing as well; although I do believe the emergency feed has played in the past without music.
-
Video of the outage from last night:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0iRBtlD-po
Please excuse the crappy quality; it was pulled from VHS tape.
-
Satellite LF at 3:00 PM ET. There was no audio for Weather Center, so they flipped over the the silent emergency feed. I have a feeling that the recent satellite LF update broke the Trammell music. :(
Edit: On the satellite LF, none of the cities are reporting low temperatures for today.
Trammell finally kicked in at 3:12 PM ET.
-
Good to hear Trammell back. This error probably led them to realize it was broken.
BTW, low temperatures are invalid on the satellite LF system after 4 or 5 AM ET (can't remember which).
I guess you cable people are only used to seeing the satellite LF during the overnight when things usually break. :P
-
At 12:58 and 1:08 PM ET, the satellite LF kicked in at the beginning, before reverting back to my Intellistar. Everything was delayed after that.
At least I could see the new graphics, rather than looking at Youtube cramping them down.
-
Haven't seen one of these in quite a while... Satellite LF at 4:08 AM ET.
Edit: Hmmmm, my IntelliStar just cued during the commercials at 4:14 am.
-
Satellite LF at 1:48 am et. Then IntelliStar cued about 10 seconds late. Also saw the satellite LF between the radar and radar/satellite screens on the IntelliStar.
-
Satellite LF 10:48 PM ET.
edit: now my STAR just cued at 10:53.
-
Saw the satellite LF (with DirecTV/Dish LDL) on a TV screen in a home during a Weather Ready segment that aired at 6:44 PM ET. :P
It was obviously an old segment, as it was the old August 2005 version with old icons.
-
Is this the first time u've seen a satellite ldl billy?
-
Is this the first time u've seen a satellite ldl billy?
I've never seen it live before. I don't really know anyone with satellite.
-
At 01:58 EDT this morning, I saw a satellite Local on the 8s with the IntelliStar's Local Forecast LDL (with Local Ad Sales ticker), then its Regional Radar product, then more of the satellite LF, then IntelliStar's Local Radar product, then it ended.

That is exactly what happened to me!
EDIT: intellistar cued late
-
Satellite LF at 12:38 AM ET. IntelliStar cued then abruptly cut out a second in to the LF.
This is getting fun. IntelliStar cued at 12:45 AM ET.
-
1:58 AM ET - IntelliStar cued then failed after a few seconds.
-
1:58 AM ET - IntelliStar cued then failed after a few seconds.
Same exact thing happened again tonight. This time I was ready and got it on tape.
-
Satellite LF at 2:38 AM ET then IntelliStar cued about 10-15 seconds into the LF.
-
Satellite LF at 6:48 PM ET. Long black screen after local ads, then a garbled satellite LF. I have a feeling that this may be a local issue.
-
I just saw one!
-
I just saw one!
Hey, you seem them every local forecast. :P
-
I just saw a satellite local forecast at :08 past as well. as well as the :48 and :58 locals

Recording this now
-
Yes. The WC just came on 2:05 pm eithout the "live banner"
They haven't used the LIVE tag in studio (at least normally) since June 2nd. ;)
-
Grrr...no trammell
-
Satellite LF with IS LDL at 9:48 AM ET. We're having some cuing issues this morning, methinks.
-
Satellite LF 5:18 PM CT.

LDL fail @ 9:30E then emergency sat @ 9:38.

There was a national sat LF at 9:28

I thought I was the only person here who had a Slingbox.

I thought I was the only person here who had a Slingbox.
Nope, I've got two in use right now. One at the office hooked up to a cable box (I have this because since I work at the station, I get ALL channels for free, but I cant bring that box home, so I hooked up a Sling Box to it), and the 2nd on a good ol' SA cable box.

How can you watch remote viewing? Everytime I try to watch my Slingbox videos outside of home on a different IP, i get a remote viewing error.

I really dont know, I didnt set any of this up. People I work with did.
I do know that the box has to have an external IP, and it cant be behind a firewall, or router. (It can be behind both, but you would have to have port forwarding, or DMZ on for it to work)
For me, the first time I used it all I had to do is punch in the IP address of the box in my office, enter the port, and enter the password and it connected / continutes to connects with no problem.
-
After the 11:28 PM ET LF, the screen went black for a few seconds, then a few seconds of the emergency feed before going to EEWC.
-

That was problaly part of my whole thing going on here... :)

-
Satellite LF with LDL at 18:18 AM ET
-
18:18? You wouldn't put AM/PM for military time. Even if you did, 18:18 would be PM. :D :P
-
18:18? You wouldn't put AM/PM for military time. Even if you did, 18:18 would be PM. :D :P
Whoops. :blushing:
Anyway, there was another at 12:28 AM ET.
-
Satellite LF at 2:58 PM ET.
-
LF fails at 2:58pm so the Emergency Satellite LF comes on. (sorry to bump this.)
-
Another satellite LF at 3:28 PM ET.
-
TWC went black around 4:07PM CT, then 2 minutes later the satellite LF appeared in my area.
-

Most likely a satellite sun outage (https://twctodayforums.com/forums/index.php/topic,1470.0.html).
-
I saw the satellite LF at 7:38AM CDT.
-
Satellite LFs at 12:58 and 1:08 PM ET, respectively.
-
Satellite LFs at 12:58 and 1:08 PM ET, respectively.

Mine also was, as was Billy's. It was freezing like crazy.
-
8:06 AM ET, screen goes green, then black, then emergency feed kicks in, no Trammell.
-
Sighting at 12:28pm with Trans Siberian Orchestra
-
Emergency SLF kicked in at 4:58pm EST.
EDIT: It was still down at 5:58pm EST.
-
Satellite LF at 6:28 PM ET.
-
And 6:48.
-
7:48 and 7:59 were Satellite LF all the way through. I'm guessing that since no one posted it already, that it's just my unit?
-
WTF - IS cued in at 8:09 during WWCH, with random commercial voiceovers ("This brought to you by..."), and commercial audio.
I can't remember if there is an LF error thread here.
-
I've had my tuner on all afternoon, and not once have I seen a satellite LF. Although there have been a few instances where the IS cues a second late, so that the satellite LF is briefly revealed.
-
Satellite LF 10:58 PM ET.
-
And again at 11:28 PM ET.
-
Satellite LF at 8:28 PM ET.
-
Another at 10:18 PM ET.
-
Does The Weather Channel's development/technical team want to get off their :censored: and fix this problem? it seems like once an hour satellite forecasts come up.... It's annoying...
-
Sounds like something is screwed up over at network control...
-
Satellite LF @ 10:28
-
Satellite LF @ 10:28
But you have DirecTV.

-
6:28pm ET
-
10:18pm est, cues at 10:23pm
10:28pm est
btw-- i like that background on the 3day forecast
-
Also at 10:58pm is this a sign they are trying some new (beta features on a beta intellistars) or is Master control having hiccups with all the normal STAR's?
-
10:30 PM.
Did they change the background on the satellite LF? It looks very reminiscent of the 2004 satellite LF.
-
Did they change the background on the satellite LF? It looks very reminiscent of the 2004 satellite LF.
Yeah, they changed it back in May... ;)
-
1:18 AM ET - IntelliStar cues, freezes, then fails to Satellite LF.
-
Did they change the background on the satellite LF? It looks very reminiscent of the 2004 satellite LF.
Yeah, they changed it back in May... ;)
Don;t be a smartass, it's Christmas.
I'm talking about recently.
-
I'm talking about recently.
Nope, the background has been the same since the May redesign.

He wasn't being a smartass. As you so eloquently say, its Christmas. One more like that and your out of here.
-
I wish the regional and radar maps would change. They've used the same radar and regional maps for over 4 years. And I wish the icons could animate too.
-
4:58pm ET
-
Yeah, the cuing is messed up again...LF must have cued at 5:06, sat at 5:08.
EDIT: Touch ahead...LF cued at 5:06, ended during the opener, and re-cued at 5:08.
-
Sat LF at 8:48 PM ET.

And 8:58 PM ET.

10:28 PM ET.

Saw The Satellite LF and the Satellite L-Bar multiple times tonight.
10:58 PM = Just saw Satellite LF
11:06 PM = Intellistar cued way too early
-
i wonder why the traffic logo appears before the local forecast, but still shows the national feed..
-
11:28 PM ET - Sat. LF.
-
There's a LOT8s bug with the ad too. Not sure if this is related.
-
11:28 PM EST

OK.
When it's seen on the normal Satellite LF, is it cued by the IntelliStar or TWC?

OK.

Maybe I should've worded that differently...
That is the IntelliStar-generated DirecTV local forecast. It is cued by TWC the exact same way any other STAR is cued.
edit: Sat LF at 11:58 PM ET.
-
12:10 AM = Intellistar Local Forecast running over commercials
BTW I think that is what looks like degradation (IntelliSTAR Style)
-
12:10 AM = Intellistar Local Forecast running over commercials
for some reason it seems like someone in the master control room is manually triggering the local forecast when commercials begin.. best guess though..
you would think that someone in that room would notice on one of their monitors that the local forecast is playing outside of the typical time..
-
degradation =/= mis-timed cues :P

Master Control does not cue trigger the STARs, it is Network Control who is in charge of the triggering and such.

Oh and the screen flashed and the audio feed died for 1 to 2 minutes then the screen flashed again and the audio came back.
From what I saw, looks like a router did that. (Pancea). Theres one in master, and it very easily gets flipped around by its self, someone must have routed PGM though it and not followed audio, so it was blank...
-
I wonder whats goin on at TWC
-
Satellite LF at 9:28.
-
Sat LF at 9:28 PM EST

The IntelliSTAR in my area is now working again.

DirecTV's Satellite IntelliStar (24131) is also not displaying anything — now there is no LDL!
-
No LDL here either... the IntelliStars aren't being rebooted afaik, seeing as how Weatherscan is still alive.

No LDL on the IntelliSTAR for my area as well

No LDL On DIrecTV, wtf is going on.

11:16 PM EST
LF Back again?!
-
Sat LF at 11:17 PM EST
-
I noticed the Local on the 8s logo disappearing then reappearing...

Now the LDL is gone again.

The LDL is not running again.

Orange LDL Appeared to show a FLOOD WARNING UPDATE. (LDL is Back on the IntelliSTAR for my area)

Sat LF at 11:38 PM EST
Orange IntelliSTAR LDL is still scrolling the flood warning update
-
traffic pulse bug, satellite @ 11:39PM ET
-
IntelliSTAR LDL for my area is down again.
-
For any watch/warning/advisory/information crawl, they will crawl no matter what because they are triggered by the NWS, NOAA, etc. The STAR will have to have a severe malfunction for the crawls not to appear.
-
Sat LF at 11:48 PM EST
And OK. but I've never seen an IntelliSTAR scroll a local warning over the Satellite LF before
-
I am recording this STAR Outage now, and it will feature the Station ID, so let's hope the STARs return soon.

If something significant happens, then tell us. But it seems as if your situation hasn't changed a but, so you needn't keep telling us the same thing repeatedly.

I understand.
I just wonder if maybe the IntelliSTAR has been sent to TWC to get upgraded to an IntelliSTAR + Weatherscan.

I doubt the whole thing is dead.... I thought my STAR was dead on June 2nd as there was no trace of it, LF or LDL or cable co. ident, but it returned late evening June 3rd...

I think mines been out for 2 or 3 days now.

UPDATE AT 7:08 PM EST
INTELLISTAR IS STILL DOWN
BTW SAT LF AT 7:08 PM EST (STAR DOWN)
-
My IS is down. Sighted Sat. LF @ 4:58-5:28 No LDL as well...
-
Looks like one of those STAR outage 'waves' has started up again. Wouldn't surprise me if everyone's STAR goes out for at least a day within the next month or so. This also happened between the end of 2007 and the beginning of 2008.
-
According to Evan his IS is not out. I contacted suddenlink and they give me twc's number <_< my IS is still out and there's offically nothing I can do about it
-
6:48 Central time; IS is still out... STILL no LDL showing and LF is still showing. As you can see here, the sat forecast on my TV

My intelliSTAR is back.

mine still isnt because of those suddenlink dumbells  they always do something stupid like this
-
I REALLY wish that something bad would happen to that :censored: intelliSTAR that serves my area and I REALLY mean it
because I am sick of that damn thing. :club:
And if any of that ever happens then I hope they replace it with either a WeatherSTAR 4000 or a WeatherSTAR XL
-
I REALLY wish that something bad would happen to that :censored: intelliSTAR that serves my area and I REALLY mean it
because I am sick of that damn thing. :club:
Like maybe..
Gets stolen by some nitwits, short circuits, gets destroyed by something caused by the weather, falls out of the rack, gets destroyed by force, gets destroyed in ANY way imaginable.
And if any of that ever happens then I hope they replace it with either a WeatherSTAR 4000 or a WeatherSTAR XL
That is definitely not going to happen... a WxSTAR 4000/XL is essentially a costly downgrade.

If the IntelliSTAR disappeared Buckeye probably wouldn't be willing to pony up the money needed for another one.
There probably at least near or more than $1,000 Dollars
-
No, they'll likely just simply trade in their IS for a new one. I'm sure it's just an outage and not a hardware failure with the Star. It will come back.
-
My IS has been back.
-
My IS has been back.
same for me, bu I heard evan is getting a new IS unit. He said that the person @ the company ordered a new one and that the old unit is broken, my IS doesn't bug up alot though, It has been working well (most of the time) since v.1!

IntelliStar cued at 3:59, then again at 4:00 PM ET.

That was very strange. Now there's no LDL during the first WC segment.
/me gets ready for satellite LF fun ahead.

I'm seeing a Local Snowfall Report now. Though, the normal LDL might not be working underneath.

The LDL apparently was running during the Local Forecast. At the end of the LF, the national LDL was already there, showing the traffic crawl.

This doesn't seem to be effecting the national feed, hence the playlist (part of the national feed) is fine. It only seems to be effecting the STARs.

Satellite LF with "Club Street" by Les Sabler at 7:18 PM EDT

-
I still see Satellite here (at 7:28 PM EDT) with "Club Street" once again playing.
-
For me- Around 6 CT, the intellistar would have a broken LDL with the time & temp. only showing, There was no report for the current conditions, it would give the actual radar, then the radar over the state, the almanac, the air quality, then cuts to the LF for a while, goes to the IS showing a traffic report, then for the traffic speeds, the interstate symbols are missing and the highway, freeway numbers only show..
-
6:38. No ldl

Yeah, that is weird how many times it has been happening so much. But my Intellistar is just fine (if you ignore the background and the icons, but that is a separate argument). The LF worked properly, and the LDL cued.

Well, the IntelliStar is back, but with no ad crawl

The LF is back, and with it comes yet another new Local on the 8s logo for the DISH (and presumably DirecTV) STAR. It's a bit of a departure from the current logo. I'll post a pic in the General LF Discussion thread in a minute.

4:08 PM CT; Flash flood warning is going across the screen while satellite LF is there
The advisory crawls runs independently and run for a specific amount of time the moment the advisory is issued.
-
The actual LF not cuing has nothing to do with the STAR itself; it simply hasn't received a cue from TWC to start running the LF. The actual STAR is always running during this time, so the alert crawl is going to keep running. The only time you wouldn't see the alert crawl is during local ads of if the actual STAR failed.
-
9:18 AM CT Sat. LF appears and then star cues 5 seconds later
-
Sat LF at 5:48 PM ET.

Here is a video I edited of this evening's two satellite LF sightings, at 8:30 PM EDT (lol, very late LF, see title :rofl2: ) and again at 8:59 PM EDT.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fW3XMGlVues# (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fW3XMGlVues#)
The first one occurred between two different episodes of Storm Stories, and the second one occured between an episode of Storm Stories and an episode of When Weather Changed History.

Yeah, it is not all that unusual that I stay a few hours after school. I am staying at my dad's through Sunday morning. Since I have a lot of homework to do tomorrow, I had to bring a lot of things home, and I did not feel like making the 20 minute walk over to my dad's so I waited until he could drive over from the Detroit area (Brighton, I think) to come and get me.

BTW, the request I was talking about was the addition of a Tides screen to my IntelliStar. I was talking with the tech support team over the phone and he said he wrote up a support ticket for it.

Some feeds are slower, like the cable on my tv feeds the cable connection a few seconds faster than my sister's tv.

That should only affect your Intellistar unit though, not the entire country. When I had all those configuration updates to my unit back in the middle of June, that never knocked out the STARs for the entire country, neither did it take mine offline either. Congrats though on getting that added!

Now they showed the Satellite LF at 10:08 during WUWA.

Now they showed the Satellite LF at 10:08 during WUWA.
This is because the butcher job of a first segment ran overtime by almost a minute, so they decided to fix the timing by using a shorter LF and didn't bother cuing up the STARs.

DirecTV and Dish don't have an LDL anymore. The LDL that you see on satellite is on the national feed coming from Atlanta. The only visible signs of an IntelliStar on DirecTV and Dish are the Station ID and the Local Forecast ad bug (either the LOT8s logo or an advertisement). DirecTV and Dish viewers do have an IntelliStar, it's just not local.

Happened to me too

Satellite LF at 3:22 PM ET.
My recordings show that my IntelliStar was up between 1:28 and 1:55 PM ET today.

Satellite ldl through 4pm. Some local forecasts on my end with limited data populated
-
26820 is down completely (no Local at all)
-
No LOT8s bug on the DirecTV IS.
-
Strange... I haven't noticed any problems with my area's Intellistar today. I just checked the local forecast right now, and everything's as it should be. :dunno:

My feed is now really really soft compared to other channels/normal. IStar is still down.

I didn't. Granted, I didn't watch for those three hours straight, but if I'm going to "randomly" turn on The Weather Channel, it's going to be as close to the local forecasts as I can get.

Ditto here. And the IS ended late by the same amount of time.
In addition, the local LDL kept going off all afternoon after only about half of the time, with the 2nd half of programming (before the commercials and local forecast) showing the national LDL. The strange thing is that a "chime" sounded every time this happened!

My XL broke once in 2008 and showed the satellite forcast. The XL got fixed when that hurrcane hit Texas(don't know when) If you got this or something else happened let me know!

You have an XL? What is your cable provider, just to see if I have that provider in my area.

Most areas of comcast have 47 and 245 In Massachusetts so it could be outside the Boston area, take your pick :P
after a 4 day hangover of Satellite due to my star being down Partial Satellite @ 3:48 but my IS cued a couple seconds late.

Not really. That was just a coincidence. That may explain this one isolated case, but it certainly doesn't explain all of the other xx:08 Satellite LFs that happen on a fairly regular basis. Furthermore, a sighting of a Satellite LF on cable is not a cue of the satellite LF itself, but a failure of the cable STAR to cue.

HD LF failed to cue at 12:38pm, causing the emergency feed to come up on the HD channel

That's not the HD Satellite Forecast. TWC upgraded the SD Satellite Forecast to look very similar to the HD NF. The only error here is that your IntelliStar failed to cue.

I wouldnt imagine so  Jim was your local LDL out too or just LFs?
Both the LFs and the LDLs were out. I checked my Weatherscan also but that one seems to be unaffected :o

The local LDL that cues during long-form programming isn't cuing either
Looks like we do have another IStar outage in the can right now :o
-
This must be all ISs, mine was out also.
-
Just saw my local LDL at :38 so looks like everything is working again :)

My intellistar is fine. I would hope they wouldn't bring the squeezeback locals back as it's a half assed attempt into providing our local forecast, IMO
-
My intellistar is fine.
If you read the post above you, you would know that all is fine ;)

Not all of the Intellistars have come back online. The Bozeman, MT unit, as well as several others throughout the region have not yet come back online. It's been roughly 24 hours since the local LDL and forecasts disappeared.

I'm pretty sure this is nationwide thanks to the time change coming up as said by Billy.

Yes, all of them were affected by this time change. It seems to happen in every one, which really surprises me for an advanced STAR system that the IS is supposed to be.
-
What causes the IS system to go out during the time change? This can't happen with all STARS, because I know a couple of people who have posted the time change that happened on their IS on YouTube.
-
Once upon a time, Stars didn't go out because of the time change. I can't recall seeing the hour added or subtracted exactly at 2:00, but in the past the Stars just kept working as usual.

It was only the IS in which got affected by the time change.. the legacies were working because the XL cued fine.

Yeah, and the videos I were referring to were of 4000s. Interesting how newer technology would have problems with the time change.

XL outages are never proportional to IS outages. keep that in mind because the two platforms receive different feeds of TWC ;)

Looks like a full screen satellite LF but my head-end for some reason cued up an L bar forecast. But it gets stranger, as seen in this video:

The satellite LF uses different graphics now. The pic you took is the L-bar cuing over the emergency feed, which still uses the old SLF graphics.
I'm assuming you haven't watched TWC in a while?
-
@ 3:28 PM CT
-
Not sure if this counts, but my IS cued late at 6:58 PM yesterday, showing part of the satellite LF before it.
-
After the local insert, the LF bumper and LF failed to cue, along with the STARs. The Emergency Feed was cued for about 15 seconds, and then was cut short by the end of the Satellite Forecast. This occurred at 2:18 PM ET.
-
The IS failed to cue at 8:38 AM CT, and the national LDL was shown afterwards.
-
*Bump*
At 4:53PM PT my IS's LDL failed to cue during WCL, and the IS itself failed to cue as well 5 minutes later.
-
7:18 PM CT - XL failed to cue. Haven't watched TWC in forever, quite unimpressed by the changes...
-
Satellite LF at 1:58 AM ET.
Wow, it feels weird posting about this. Haven't watched TWC in a while, especially enough to not see a STAR cue.
