They must be having trouble switching over, similarily to what happened during the primetime list on August 3.

Anyone happen to hear the song that played at 4:48pm just before the tropical update, I'm sure it's by George Howard, but the song name escapes me...

I hope primetime will has more jazz songs. Last playlist's primetime section was alright (it only has like 3 reused, which is not bad).

EDIT: new song at 4:08PM CT. Acoustic guitar sounding music.

Romeo and Juliet - Euge Groove (it has a sorpano saxophone, rather than the tenor), which was used on TWC November 2008 primetime (Back when there wasnt a lot of repeats and primetime was good). Finally, a 2008 repeat, primetime so far is just full of 2009/2010 repeats. All of them of are non jazz. <_< Expect Lily was here (through its was used earlier this year)

That is because Primetime needs to go back to JAZZ!!!! They run out of non-jazz instrumentals to play, so they end up playing repeats.  :hammer: I really don't even listen to primetime anymore. I have conceded that it will continually be mediocre to poor.

You're right Felix, it was "Romeo and Juliet" by Euge Groove. I just got a ad tag with the song ID on it after I uploaded a video of it.

EDIT: Also I heard the Shaft theme, boy talk about repeats galore!  Pretty unfortunate, I thought this was a solid playlist until I heard the Primetime portion, seriously haven't we worn out "Monoliths" over the past 8 weeks as it is?

Good god, terrible playlist. How many times is Picard gonna play Snapshot, Jessica, and Route 101? Lily Was Here, 11/12/13, What I Got, and Shaft also have to go. Aside from daytime, I hate this playlist. I thought things were gonna turn out better after last months playlist, but I guess Brian liked the idea of repeats and 10-song playlists instead. :hmm:

I don't even bother with primetime anymore.  Until TWC realizes that this rock/pop/soundtrack gimmick is a complete farce, they will continue to recycle these songs. But TWC is so stubborn and arrogant in this regard (and other areas too). They just plain refuse to play jazz in the primetime, and they will play overplayed, overused songs continually, to try to justify their decision. They really think football music, rock n' roll, and soundtracks will attract viewers? Please.

Unfortunately, nothing will change. TWC will continue with this same playlist format, and this same pattern with the music that they're going with. So, we're going to continue to see random playlists, morning and primetime dayparts filled with repeats, and the lack of jazz. :(

Agreed. That September 2009 cut of Jessica sucks.  TWC arrograntly refuses to play jazz in the primetime. And they know that many viewers come to TWC because of their jazz. But no. They want to continue to shove this rock and soundtrack crap down our throats. So all you hear are a bunch of lame repeats. The morning has repeats too, but at least there is a good chunk of jazz to balance it off. Since July 2009, I have gotten resigned to the fact that primetime will always be lame. In the Nov/Dec playlist, we will hear the same 2009/2010 repeats used over and over again.  <_<

With the exception of 10/09, 3/10, and 8/10, the primetime playlists since July 2009 were mediocre at best. Daytime is almost always a great playlist with neat smooth jazz songs and little repeats. Overnight is usually good too, but this time around there's mostly repeats.

Is Craig Chaqucio playing in the primetime list? I heard a song last night that sounds similar to his style. If it is, this would be the first time he's been used since the April/May 2009 playlist iirc. It's also my favorite from that list.

What songs are on the overnight list?

I've only heard Moby, Marooned by Pink Floyd, T. Monk (That song that plays in the daytime) so far.

Well this playlist simply blows. It *might* end up being the worst playlist of the year.

Here's my list of best and worst songs for this list:
Best:
Morning: Rock Steady by The Whispers
Daytime: Alecia by Travis Rogers
Primetime: Unknown song #2
Overnight: My Last Goodbye by Jackiem Joyner

Worst:
Morning: Tie between Snapshot by lynn patrick and "What I Got" by Sublime
Daytime: Tie between Straight no chaser by thelonious Monk and He Reigns by Bernie Williams
Primetime: Tie between Jessica by the Allman Brothers and Monoliths by Maserati (need I say more?)
Overnight: Marooned by Pink Floyd (This was the worst song in last Oct's list IMO, but to bring it back again is death)

Best

Morning: Rock Steady by the Whispers
Afternoon: Mr. Miller by Brian Bromberg
Punta Del Sol and St. Elsewhere's Theme by Dave Grusin
Never the Same by Charlie Langler
Primetime:  Shaft

Worst

Morning: Route 101 and What I Got (both been overused way too much)
Afternoon: Straight No Chaser by Thelonious Monk (fits better overnight)
Primetime: Almost everything, but the ones that stand out are The John Williams songs, Jessica (horrendous cut), and Monoliths

I have to listen to the overnight, but from what I've gathered, this playlist gets 4/10 so far.

Worst:
Morning: What I Got by Sublime or Snapshot by Lynn Patrick
Daytime: None (even the two repeats from last year aren't that bad)
Primetime: ALL but In the Light, Direct Sunlight, WC147, and Lily Was Here.
Overnight: Marooned by Pink Floyd

Earlier today, I found the page to the October 2010 playlist.

October (I hope it last until 10/31-11/1) 2010 Playlist.

Knowing TWC, this playlist probably won't change until mid-November, maybe around Thanksgiving.

I recorded one of the "???-???-???" songs yesterday, and I am going to see, if for some reason, if it shows up on the Shazzam app.

EDIT: No results (not expecting there would be any!)
EDIT #2: Just noticed Felix's post. Sorry!

Didn't you suggest Bickley Rivera and Michael Haggins to them too?

Looking back at my clips, there seems to be two cuts of Rock Steady from the morning playlist being used too. There's 60/90 second only cut with a time-in of ~:06, then there's another cut used on all flavors with a time-in of ~:25. I can upload clips to compare, along with the Straight no Chaser cuts.
