Anyone have an idea on when the November/December 2010 playlist will begin? Will be start before or after Thanksgiving?
-
there will probably not even be one at the rate this October playlist is going.

Didn't someone mention that you can't make playlist threads until someone posts the actual playlist?

that was resolved a month ago

Ok, ok, I honestly forgot. I tried to delete this post, but I am not being allowed to. :dunno:

Don't delete it (resolved) meant you can still post your playlist questions before a playlist even starts.
and i can answer your 1st post
The playlist up for October will play into November, most likely for a majority of the month.
-
Well, I guess this post will be inactive for a few more weeks. :P
-
Nearly sure it will start November 16, 2 weeks from now. Do you want to know my method of figuring out this?
-
Haven't we discussed this before?
-
Haven't we discussed this before?
Possibly. 7 week playlists?
-
It'll start when it starts.

It's kind of annoying how TWC isn't as organized with its playlists anymore. <_< I know it's because they have more important things to worry about, but the old "drill" was nice. Once a new month rolled around, a new playlist started, this would be known as the "[Month] Playlist," and a new playlist started every single month. Now, playlists might be used for two months in a row and new ones don't necessarily start when the new month starts. :(

Yeah, there have been a couple playlists over the last year that have lasted up to three months. <_<

Seems a new playlist started
2:28pm Diamond Eyes - Michael Haggins
2:38pm Rattle and Burn - Jesse Cook
2:48pm Three Graces - Jill Switzer
2:58pm Straight, No Chaser - Thelonious Monk
3:08pm Wishbone - Physical Therapy
3:18pm One Fine Day - Ryan Farish

Waiting for you by Marcus Anderson at :38. I cannot tell at the moment if this is a best-of list, a new playlist, or a fluke with the music system. If it's indeed a best of list, then why replay the entire August list?
-
I hope One Fine Day is an error.. surely it was nice to see back in August 2010 but why would it be back after three months of the same cut?
EDIT:
3:58 PM ET - Rattle and Burn
4:08 PM ET - Pan Funk by Bickley Rivera
Its the August 2010 list all over!!
-
Maybe the new playlist is trying to air, but failing. :hmm:
-
Also, the local forecasts aren't airing on time. They're starting to air on the 10's rather than the 8's. Maybe there is a link between that and the 'new' playlist?
-
Maybe because TWC has strict standards for music that is the reason they decided to just reair the august list.
-
We're going to have to tune in at 5:08 for more details... :hmm:
-
I wouldnt be surprised if they finally see an error and trigger Trammell
-
I'll be bummed if TWC actually chooses to just reuse playlists. That would take a lot of the thrill out. But if they did reuse the playlists, they could go back to 2008 or 2006.
-
I don't really mind if the August playlist airs for a little bit, it brings back some "old" memories. :P
1 of 4 things will happen in the next hour to the music:
-Trammell Will Air
-New Playlist Will Debut
-Use The Aug/Sep 2010 Primetime Playlist Beginning At 5:28 PM (Or The First Primetime LF)
-Regular Scheduled Music
-

Sorry for the 2x post.
Any playlist before 2009 is fine with me! (Though, it won't happen.) :hmm:
-
Or maybe there was copyright issues with the current playlist and they brought back the previous one as a temporary replacement...?

Bizarre.. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LPH61ciiYk#)

I wouldn't bet on that.

It's probably just one of those errors...Not a huge concern.

that was resolved a month ago
How do you figure that? A new playlist topic is supposed to be started only if: a new playlist has started, a new playlist lineup has been released (regardless if it has started playing), or if someone has confirmed there will be a new playlist. This is only meant to stop the hate and negative comments. However thats beyond the point now that something is occurring with the music. Just keep this in mind in the future. I didn't think it was that big od a deal :noexpression:

Ive heard a couple these past few days.
Martin, what is going on?
Not sure. Perhaps they are using a combo of the songs from both playlists?

Why not 2007? It had an awesome May-June playlist, which is one of my favorites.
-New Playlist Will Debut
It's way too early for a new playlist.
-
has to be a dual playlist because this is playing @ 7:28am
Simplicity - Stanton Lanier (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gd_EH9yqWEE#)

Right now I'm hearing "Green Onions" on the 7:38 am LF
-
TWC must've had some sort of Playlist Transitioning failure in order for this error to occur.
-
Im taping overnight for some stuff
Btw Ive only heard the August tracks at the :28/:58 locals tonight
-
This seems to be going on for quite a long time. I think TWC may just keep this playlist. It's been on for several days now.
How difficult is it to change a playlist? If this is an error, why aren't they able to easily fix it?
-
I bet this will keep up. Most people do not even know there are playlists that change every couple months. I'm sure if I asked someone that watches TWC, but isn't into all of its inside information, (about 99% of viewers): "Do you know something is wrong with the local on the 8's playlist?" They would reply: "Huh? No... I don't know..."
Point: Most viewers won't even tell a difference.

I sure hope this is not our official November playlist.
-
I'd be a little disappointed, but I won't be devastated. I'll really be looking forward to that Christmas music now!
Actually, I had this thought that the new playlists would go in reverse--so the playlist after this one would be the June 2010 playlist, and then the playlist after that would be the April 2010 playlist. I really liked the June playlist, so I wouldn't mind that one making a return. This one, however, is not one of my favorites.
-
The thing about this error/choice is it seems to have overridden the October Playlist rather quickly.

My bet is this current selection continues to play for another week or so then ttp://www.weather.com/tv/music/nov2010.html kicks in until the Holiday playlist starts

So they are not going to have a seperate Nov/Dec list like last year? If music is such a problem, why not assemble a "Best of 2010" playlist for pete's sake
-
its just hilarious how this is playing out, August/whatever comes next/then the future of music on TWC.

Haha yea
-
This whole situation reminds me of the November 1995 "playlist." For the first few days the month, they brought back the February 1995 playlist, and then for a few more days they played random music until the final playlist was phased in by mid-month.

TWC doesn't seem to put much stock on the playlist anymore.

You know what's funny? TWC wastes money on vocal music for WUWA and can't even get a playlist ready on time.

true dat

I agree. WUWA's musical selection is terrible, but at least TWC takes time to put the music together for that. TWC decides to just recycle playlists. <_< Ever since the June 2009 format change, TWC has had only 3 -4 consistently good playlists. A recycled playlist is just pure laziness on the part of TWC. I hope I'm wrong, but I guess we'll have to wait til sometime in January for the next playlist.

True. I keep on hearing songs form the August playlist. Talk about lazy.
-
Picking 5 (or is it 6?) songs out weekly that are only going to air for a week is a lot simpler than doing a monthly playlist.
I can't believe how sore you guys are getting over this

Concurred. In fact if its been so long since Ive seen WUWA it made me forget they used vocal songs daily (although some do repeat) :P

It totally is pure lazyness, there was never a problem making a monthly playlist until TWC started worrying about other worthless b.s.
News/Business is killing the network.
-
There are over 100 songs on the playlist now... this I can live with. In 1999 they had playlists that lasted just as long but had like only 10 songs on it. So we've seen it worse.
Repeats were also quite common during the Steve Hurst era, so that is nothing new either.
-
So are we sure, (or close to sure), that this is the new playlist?

The so called "October" playlist is back as of 1:48pm EST
-
I was wondering if the November 2010 playlist was going to be a "best of" playlist since a lot of songs form the August playlist were playing.
-
I was wondering if the November 2010 playlist was going to be a "best of" playlist since a lot of songs form the August playlist were playing.
It is pretty confusing. Yesterday, all I heard was the August playlist, up until this morning. In the afternoon, I am hearing the October playlist.
-
Even though I don't have much of a preference, I do enjoy hearing the October playlist again. I've heard the August songs too much, and many of them are too summery and out of season.
-
I'm glad the October list is back, I didn't like the August playlist that much the first time around and as Christina said a lot of the songs are more fit for summertime than fall.
-

Yeah, especially the Bickely Rivera songs.

Yeah, especially the Bickely Rivera songs.
I would have rather heard the June/July list eventhough those songs are summer like too, I liked that selection better.

Where is your source regarding weekly playlists? (Not that I'm doubting you or anything)

I think he was referring to the WUWA playlists.
-
So now we are in mid November and there sure is to be a list I'll stretch and say it will appear mid December and run into late January 2011.
-
Yeah, but it would be kind of weird to have a new playlist just a week before the Christmas playlist. If there is a new playlist at all the rest of this year, the Dec/Jan playlist will probably be late this month. That's my guess.
-
Hopefully a new list will start soon, judging by the patterns I expect it to start Thursday primetime/Friday overnight or Tuesday overnight/morning

Don't hold your breath :P
TWC is more worried about Holiday Travel than a new playlist.

I hope it will start on Wednesday. I miss playlists that started on the first day of the month.

the playlists have never started on a wednesday with the exception of the June playlist which started Friday overnight. It's usually Tuesday overnight or Thursday primetime.

Or sometimes Tuesday primetime, according to the Dec 2009 playlist starting at 5:08 PM 11/17/09.
As for my predictions, going along with the Tuesday/Thursday pattern, I'll say 11/30, but more likely to be 12/2. Another theory, though, is that the current playlist may play until the holiday list is aired, then the January 2011 list will go into effect between the 25th of December and the 5th of January. Just my theory.

The December 2009 playlist started on 11/17/09 and ended on 1/12/10, about a month and a half or so (taking a week away for holiday playlist). So the next playlist will most certainly last until late January.
I just hope this wait will be well worth it and a good playlist with little repeats is coming.

I'm talking about post-July 09 lists and yes the Nov list did start on a Tues primetime too

I don't think there will be a November playlist at all. It's already the 29th, so IMO, it's too late for a November playlist.

Correct. This topic will have to be renamed December 2010 Playlist or January 2011 Playlist, depending on when the list begins.

That's fine with me. I don't plan on commenting on this until whenever the new playlist starts.
