Nightly IntelliStar Jitters
« on: March 24, 2008, 01:10:40 AM »
Anyone with the IntelliStar notice that from maybe 12 AM ET through about 3 AM ET, the IntelliStar tends to skip, jump, or freeze up during the local forecast? It seems to be a fairly new thing, only popping up within the past few months. It can get so bad that at times the STAR will totally quit midway through the forecast, and cut to the satellite feed.

Just a few minutes ago, at 12:58 AM ET, the STAR froze about five different times for about 10 seconds total, and while it didn't cut to the satellite feed, it ran over the beginning of Forecast Earth. And at the same time the past two nights the STAR had a hard freeze and cut to the satellite feed.

Anyone else experience this, or know what might cause it to happen at approximately the same time each night? Could it be a bad satellite uplink between the headend between TWC?

I'll be darned... At 1:58 AM ET, my IntelliStar froze during the Daypart Forecast, then cut to the satellite LF.

I haven't watched TWC that late at night in quite awhile. I'll have to tune in and see if mine has the same problem.

Yup, I noticed that at around 12:30 last night/this morning. It's been going on at least since June.

Just recently I've been leaving it on while I do other things. What's the big deal?

Your so full of it. You've been watching and you know it.

The big deal is that you've been puffing your chest out over not watching TWC. So I suppose I should be asking YOU what the big deal is.  :rofl2:

No i haven't. Before this month, when the good music started, i watched it maybe once or twice a month. What I don't understand is why you're hanging on my every word and holding me to it. If I want to watch a particular TV station, it's my right to do so. If I don't, thats also my right. Honestly, who cares how much/when i watch TWC? It seems like there are far more important issues these days to worry about.

You keep reiterating the statement 'Who cares...". Nobody but you. YOU made a big deal out of not watching TWC, not any of us. Lose the ego and these problems will go away too.

I never made a big deal about not watching TWC, you're the one who's making a big deal about me watching TWC after I said that I wasn't. I really don't want to do this today, so I'm not participating in this thread any longer.

YOU DID make a big deal out of it. I have more posts than I can count where make a big deal out of it. Both here and and Taiganet. IN fact, that was a condition of your return here. The first words out of your mouth to me were "I might come back, but I won't be around much because I no longer watch TWC".

My satellite feed usually takes a long time for the radar to animate too. For example, at the end of the lf, the radar map is stuck at the midwest region, where that section would show at 1:40 into the lf.

You have satellite, so you won't experience the same problems we do. ;)
