New Weatherstar xl location revealed
« on: May 01, 2014, 10:13:29 AM »
Hello all twctoday members and just those people who browse the twctoday fourms. after living here for almost 5 years with this baby on my tv im going to reveal its information to you guys today. here is some information about: The north georgia Weatherstar XL!

Cable provider: Windstream

CC (Current Conditions) location: Gainesville

LF (Local Forecast) location: North Georgia Mtns.

i will probably post a video on it later today if i have the time. on top of this discovery, a couple nights ago i caught something very rare... the TWC stream flickered a pink and black color just a few times and then the WSxl showed i believe the l flavor with a weather alert screen, therefore unfortunely making it not show the regional forecast screen but i still remember those locations. they are (from west to east) : Huntsville, Birmingham, Montgomery, Knoxville, Atlanta, Macon, Charlotte, Columbia, Charleston. and when i post the video, the radar screen... centered right over the central part of the mountains making for an excellent view of the north georgia area. i will show a pic of the CC screen for now for proof. more to come  maybe a radar screenshot later on as well. and the ad crawl still works. unchanged for years so this baby should be here for a long time more.

ok i have uploaded the video to youtube. the link will be in this post. just a few things to mention: 1: the video is in bad resolution because i dont have a very good recording setup (recorded with a ps vita, re-recorded with an ipod 4g front camera) so im sorry if you dont like low resolution videos, its all i can do for the moment. 2: theres no audio because it was like almost 1 am so... there will be videos later on that does have audio but the music playing was the storm alert mode track. so enjoy and this is an offical Weaherstar xl. im not lying. its been on my tv for 5 years and its still going strong. here the link:

When it flickers the pink and black, it's usually due to feed-related issues. When the star loses the live feed signal, it will cause a 2min L flavor to continuously loop until the feed is back.
Probably looked something like this (audio during locals was inserted, normally there would be silence):
<a href="https://www.youtube.com/v/R2pgkOkk7fI" target="_blank" class="new_win">https://www.youtube.com/v/R2pgkOkk7fI</a>

or this:

it went from the live feed to flickered pink and black and back to the feed in a quarter of a second, kinda like a flash of lightning. 10 seconds later it does it again 3 times in 2 seconds and the L flavor cued. comparing both videos you gave, its the smoothness of the first one for only one run, while the playlist of the second (first one is with no weather bulletins, second one does have the weather bulletins screen) and when i started recording it at like 1:30 in the morning or 1:30 am, it already went like 5 or 6 seconds later than when it started but still has all the bottom LDL stuffs. also for everybody else i wanted to give some additional information about the star. first of all the almanac and forecasts come from dahlonega, ga, but shows the forecast area as north georgia mtns. second of all, to help with the L flavor, i will give the Current Conditions locations. they are: anderson, asheville, athens, canton, dalton, dobbins AFB, gainesville and rome. i will post the video about the L flavor playlist either today or tomorrow. so expect more soon :)

Ok I've posted the L flavor to YouTube. And I made a mistake on one of the observation sites. It's Dobbins ARB, not Dobbins AFB. Here you guys go! Http://youtu.be/dslKPWVg2Xg more to come on this as soon as I feel like it :)
