I've been hearing new songs on the overnight playlist. At 2:08 AM ET, a classical piano song played. Could this be the start of the September playlist?
-
I've also heard the new overnight songs as well, and I don't recall hearing them before on the LF. If new songs emerge in the daytime after WUWA, then we have a new playlist.
-
I heard 4 new songs, including Lost in the Garden by Steve Glotzer so it might be a new playlist
-
should be, if so i will get the sheet around 9am today! :D
-
I believe this is the September playlist beginning, I heard that same Beach Boys song they played during WUWA at 7:28am EDT.
-
Aww man, I wanted to record more Terminal Frost clips. Looks like that isn't happening. :( Wish they'd let us know ahead of time...
-
Winged Mammal Theme at 8:08 AM ET!
-
Going Home by Mark Krurnowski played at 8:28, which also played in March 2007 and July 2008.
-
The Ramsey Lewis song from yesterday's WUWA is also on this month's morning playlist.
-
mediocre rotation this morning (guess a better one will happen tomorrow.)
-
Taquila!! at 9:38am ET... guess this transferred over from the WUWA list?
-
This morning, I've heard "Green Onions" by Booker T and the MG's and "Tequila" by The Ventures. Both were on earlier WUWA playlists.
-
Here it is:
It has some jazz songs but still has too much rock.

Ohh, I remember Living! That played back in June 2002. It's quite depressing though.
-
The Dixie Chicks?
-
And the Beach Boys tune sounds like rubbish when played without vocals...and it's back.
But a very solid list overall, including Layla back in prime (where it should be).
-
The only possible song I'd be interested in is that Davilio song in the morning playlist...
-
Bummer, they dropped me off. It was fun while it lasted! B)
-
"Layla" is back on this playlist...I've had enough if that song already. :hammer:
-

What about Chris Geith? :P

Whoopsie didn't see him on the playlist! :P
-
I forgot to ask about this this morning, but why is the September Playlist starting so early? :dunno:
-

Same here. That's why I never in the mood to hear reused songs.
This playlist is OK, great to have some jazz music on it, but still too much rock as Victor said. 8/10 is my rating so far.
-
Ugh another blah playlist
-
Anyone know this song?

From what I've heard so far, I like it a little better than the last playlist.
-
Bummer, they dropped me off. It was fun while it lasted! B)
Very sorry to hear that. Hope they add you back to the playlists!
-
They didn't screw up Layla's time-in. It's now at 3:07, the same cut used for all the years previously
-

As much as I love this song, I'm getting tired of hearing it play for a 3rd month in a row.

I hate Layla

Yeah, why would the Beach Boys make LOT8s? Their music is good but not really without vocals...TWC must be using the karaoke version. :whistling: :P

Based on elimination that would be Chris Geith. But there's no way that can be right!!
The only 3 songs you don't have up yet are:
-$160 Million Chinese Man by David Holmes
-Wipe Out by Surfaris
-Heat Index by Chris Geith
And obviously that song isn't the first two, so it has to be Chris Geith. I suggest you confirm this with him...
-
Although this doesn't sound quite like most of his songs, I'm pretty sure this is Chris Geith. There is a small part (from 0:46 to 0:52) that sounds like one of his other songs, possibly Fountain of Youth.
-

Yes! I just noticed that too actually. And the overdriven guitar does have a similar sound to his other song "Diamonds in the Sky". IDK about everyone else but I kinda like it. B)

This has to be CG, I sampled Wipeout and it sounds nothing like it. The David Holmes song is on dailymotion. The guitar and beat sounds similar to those 2 songs you mentioned. I also like it, but I'm pretty shocked that Chris would compose music like this.

I think someone here said he was offered to compose music for TWC. And I'm sure he was told to compose a more rock-style song to fit with the crappy new rock-based playlists. But I am impressed with how that song turned out! Probably the only good song on the list. Though I'm curious to hear that Tony Davilio song.... Did you happen to hear it?
-
No not yet, the Tony Davilio song is probably rock too considering he was once a band member for John Lennon. I really like Heat Index, its indie rock in a way

The name 'Psyche' definitely suggests that it's rock..
Me too! It's very catchy! Apparently Chris is supposed to release his TWC music CD soon. I hope this song is included.

It's rock. Like last month's Yvonne Ayers song which was new agey, I doubt they'd use new n/a jazz music
Chris's new CD is supposed to have Above the Clouds, Blue Horizons, Flying West and some more TWC songs. Can't wait to get it myself :)

I can't believe I'm saying this, but this is probably the best CG song I've heard yet. I hate rock yet this song sounds like heavy rock.
-
LOT8s sure is different nowadays, maybe not a bad thing, I am undecided. As much as I love rock, some just don't really fit in IMO. Very odd to hear country and classical, but of course, being the Bradley Joseph fan that I am, I am happy to hear the song from his new classical CD on the overnight playlist (heard it twice tonight already at 1:28 and 2:08). I think it fits real well in the overnight playlist, very calm and relaxing.
12 Minuetto (Boccherini) / Bradley Joseph / Suites & Sweets
I am also scrambling to hear all the new Chris Geith songs on yt, thanks to all you guys/gals who post the clips!
I have the Clapton Unplugged DVD, it is very good, so happy to hear Signe (Acoustic Version) from that performance.
-
I had a question. I haven't posted in quite a while because I honestly thought no one was posting the playlists anymore -- just realized that it was because I browsed here without being signed in, and this forum is not visible when not signed in, so I didn't see any of the recent posts. Just wondered if there was a reason this forum is not available publicly? I just think there would be a lot of nonmember browsers who would be interested in all this great info. Anyhoo, I know better now to sign in. I have a lot to catch up on.

If you go to my youtube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/LFMusicFan) and in the search box type "Chris Geith", you can hear all the new Chris Geith songs that aired this year, as well as a few from last year. (I didn't bother to post some of the older ones that were repeated, such as "Restless Heart" or "Nice to Meet You").
-
i'm hearing what sounds like "Psyche" by Tony Davilio. It's a catchy yet a WTF type of song..

Well, I finally memorized the morning playlist, and am close on the daytime list. However, I noticed many of the songs on the daytime and primetime lists are not available on lala. I hope the full playlist can be posted soon. It took me a while to memorize the last playlist, and now I have to start all over :bleh:

I really like the primetime playlist, mainly Gooding, this rock song (I have heard on an old eppy of The Simpsons before), and another song that sounds like a mix of R&B and techno.
The only problem I have with it is "Jessica" playing in the primetime, it doesn't really fit in there imo.

That song played five times last night during the primetime slot, and I agree that it doesn't seem to fit in the primetime as well. Every time I hear "Jessica", I think that I'm in a Roy Rogers restaurant due to the song's mood. :bleh:

seems like twc made primetime playlist early or a mix because primetime at 6:28pm
Evidently, the primetime playlist start time has been switched to 5 PM ET, for whatever reason.
-
Still primetime music <_<
-
This is ridiculous. Now the probability of capturing a two minute clip of a daytime song is even slimmer. The primetime songs are also not meant to air that early, especially for the Pacific time zone, where the primetime list starts at 2 PM now.
-
IMO, each playlist needs to run for 6 hours each like this:
- Morning from 6 AM through Noon
- Daytime from Noon to 6 PM
- Primetime from 6 PM to Midnight
- Overnight from Midnight to 6 AM
Btw, I thought you guys might enjoy this. :thrilled:
