The new National LDL is indeed part of the actual TWC feed now. And like Eric said, before the 3/11/10 update, the LDL seen on Dish and DirecTV were from actual IS units, not TWC.

Then again, I don't believe the national feed without an LDL ever had a clock in it before, anyway, so the way things are now really aren't any different than they've ever been where the clock is concerned.  The clcok was displayed nationally, as far as I know, to accomidate the Intellistar viewers for the brief period of time when the Intellistar didn't display a clock.

Yeah, this is completely true, however with Dish network and DirecTV, they both used a national LDL that had the time cycling through time zones, just like how the temporary national clock was.

OK, I should rephrase, I meant that Dish Network and Directv each used their own Intellistar units that were national(i.e. not localized), and for Dish Network, they are using it for Local on the 8's now (don't know about DirecTV).  I know the LDL wasn't part of the national feed.

It never has been until 2010. And IIRC, DirecTV got theirs in 2004 when Dish got theirs in 2007.

I think you're right on that, I'm pretty sure the LDL showed up on DirecTV before Dish.  The blue IS LDL on Dish is being used during Local on the 8's again, after disappearing for a few weeks.  Don't know about DirecTV.

DirecTV still has their IS. The only different thing from Dish is no LDL on the LF, in which I really miss. :(

Maybe TWC and DirecTV teamed up so you don't know that LOT8's aren't really happening on the 8's? (No clock) :fear:  :D

Yes please do. Posts like those that do not contribute to the topic can be considered spam. Just a heads up

Just a quick question - signifying agreement without contributing something new isn't really allowed on this forum?

It would be more helpful if he quoted a post and/or gave a reason for agreeing.

Don't worry about it. This was a trouble user who we had problems with. Its fine to agree with something. This user went around making 20 posts in 10min with two words in each post that dont contribute anything.

*Bump*

I know this has been discussed before, but is anyone getting a clock on the SD LDLs? :dunno: I think a clock may be provided for viewers with a STAR, but there is NO clock whatsoever on the national LDLs. (And I know no clocks are present on HD LDLs, either. :()

Yeah, it has been like that since 4/14. I would expect they'll add a clock for satellite/legacy STAR viewers eventually.
